The Panther Project: Brandon Williams

Recommended Posts

I'm not gonna get myself all excited about him doing anything this year, but if they can keep him on the PS and develop him, I think certainly next year he could get onto the active game day roster.

On a side note, can you imagine being confronted by Brandon Williams as a cop? Holy shite.

i can't imagine this guy going to the PS, esp. with lesser talent on the 53. if we are dumb enough to put him on there, he won't last long. one  or two preseason games and he's going to be a hot commodity.

Yeah you don't pass up a kid with this kind of raw ability, and with a good tight ends coach this could be a steal. I don't look for much out of him this year, maybe a flash here or there, but give him some time and put him through a ton of reps.

Make him room with Olsen.  Not many out there better than him to learn from.

He won't make it to the practice squad, if were stupid enough to cut him he will be snatched up by someone else. If we kept Clausen, AE, Nakumura and Gettis I can't see us not keeping this guy.

I think he's been getting too much exposure and too much good work in at camp for us to be able to slip him onto the PS.  I'd much rather cut Hartsock and keep Williams on the roster.  That way he can get invaluable gametime experience too.

Agreed

The way he's getting run so early in practice (and with Gettleman's experience in NY with players of this type), you have a feeling he will be giving every opportunity to play with the Panthers this year, if he continues to progress.

Don't even be shocked, if he's a contributor. Cam needs, more tall, big receivers to throw to (just for General Principle, and the fact that Cam is tall, and sometimes his passes sail high).

As long as Williams stays healthy, I think he will be giving every opportunity, to make the team, and be a contributor.

Gotta keep him on the roster this year, can't risk losing him. If that means cutting Harstock, then so be it. Brandon seems to be picking up the blocking aspect of playing tight end, so by the end of camp, I say he'll be on Harstock's level anyway.

not to mention, he'll be cheap.  Real cheap.  and can still contribute to the team?

We haven't played a game yet, but the new additions to this team look more promising than any

year I can remember.  The draft, the ufa's, pulling Brandon Williams from out of our ass....the team seems

much stronger, younger, and ready to win now and in the future.

Hartsock has been in the league since 2004, and has a whopping 312 receiving yards and one TD. Through 5 teams. As a person he is a nice guy and all, but he shouldn't make the roster over a guy like Brandon Williams.
