This is a possible Hardy sack or at least a pass disruption if he didn't slow up after burning Bell? If he extends and surges after rounding the corner he gets to Cam. He isn't allowed to in camp, so he slows up.

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer

how many greg hardy's does he have to defend this year?

not saying that bell is good or that we don't need to upgrade, btw. juat hardy half assing it = top pressure from many DEs bell will be blocking this year. he should be better.... WE should have better.... but he'll be ok.

Lol.  . Are there power meters on the players?   So we know for a fact Hardy is going 75% and Bell is going 100%?  Hardy is a bad man, but it's pretty clear Bell won that one.

I know OL bashing is fashionable.  I mean I started a thread saying I was worried about Silatolu.  But to say Hardy would have beaten bell on that play is a reach at best.  Bell did a good job, Cam did a good job, hell Armanti did a spectacular job.

To counter your Debbie Downer, I have some .............Upton.....Ulysses......um, uppers:

Campbell looks good on the right side,

Williams gets a B at RG (a bit on his heels)

Bell was trying to play the left side--needs to lock on and stay on him--why did he quit moving his feet?

Armanti may be ready for prime time.

What was Cam reading--Godfrey?  Munnerlyn was all over Edwards.

What is Tolbert signaling to Barner? Right side?  Either way, with Brandon Williams running a seam route, Tolbert in the flats, and Barner sitting down over the middle, Cam had options.

Debbie Downers:

We need more push from our DTs than that.  However, The double team on the nose is the reason Hardy has Bell 1 on 1. Tolbert checks Alexander, even though they have a TE on that side.  I am guessing that 75 would have helped Bell if Hardy had an inside release-so Bell knew the only thing he had to fear was getting bull rushed or beat on the outside.  He still lost.

I am guessing Godfrey was late over the top.

Defense can never hit the QB in practice. Hardy was going 75%

Hardy was going close to 100% until he realized the sack was out of reach. There was just too much ground for him to make up in order to get to Cam, especially since he stepped up in the pocket. What we should all be talking about is the precise accurate throw by Newton. What a beauty, hopefully we will see a lot of these throws this year. Oh yeah, great catch by Armanti.

    • I am high, but that’s besides the point! The blue line is not good right now. I’ve said it all year. I don’t think this group meshes well. Slaven has been just OK Niki up and down Miller up and down ghost and Walker have been your most consistent guys. Maybe it comes together more towards the playoffs
    • I was expecting to see more cap room moves by now, which may be to suggest that we are not going to be that aggressive.  I have mixed emotions about that (because I think we have 3 needs on D and 3 needs on O--starters).  If you look to the draft for 3 starters, that is ambitious.  We need 6
    • Yeah we shouldn’t be competing with teams, bidding wise, to sign a WR. There will be one for us and our budget.  I keep saying, how many balls will there be to go around anyway? One thing good I will say for this offense is the ball has been spread around at times. Seems like I remember seeing a large number of guys have caught passes in a game. Or been targeted at least. 3 RBs 4 or 5 WRs 2-3 TEs type of stat lines. 10-11 guys.  Not every week but that happens.    As far as WR in general, we need the smaller agile and quicker component to compliment what is there. After that it should be about depth, having good backups for the starters so we can run things consistently still, if a guy is out for a week or two. That is especially important in game where you have to finish the game with who you made active.
