Eagles and Gamplanning...

Recommended Posts

I don't want to overreact, but

1) O-line looked bad. Gettle, please bring in help.

2) secondary looked bad as well

3) Russell Anderson and gettis were bright spots

4) why is clausen playing better than Anderson two games in a row now??

I noticed Anderson sucking too. The one that jumped out at me was where he went deep with barner wide open for the check down and first down and had to punt. Jimmer is the lesser of two evils...

Phi certainly ran a lot of trickery. Their starters also played 2 entire series vs our backup D. Chip Kelly treated the game like it mattered a lot. Our secondary didn't look but it's to be expected against this Philly team with 0 film or prep.

We ran the most basic offense I've seen. No 3 WR sets until 1 min left in 1st half. Obviously not situational play calling. O-line didn't look good run blocking but decent pass blocking.

No reason to worry, no reason to be excited.

I'm interested to see if Philly continues this after a few weeks of film. And Vick will be their starter without question.

    • There is quote from Canales somewhere when we hired him.  He was blunt he isn't some creative mind.  He was going to come in here and do X......and that was going to be closer to Foxball than anything we have seen.   And that largely has held true.   It's why he REALLY needs that Jake Delhomme type.  Baker was that.  The downfield gunslinger.   Big plays exist in his O.   You need a gambling QB to go make them downfield.  Bryce pulled the trigger once this week.  But he is just bad at it.  It was that Tmac deep ball that ended up being a PI.  Tmac had his dude beat.  That was the homerun ball this O sets up.   But Bryce underthrew it.  Tmac had to slam on the breaks and come to a full stop and wait for it.    Those just aren't Bryce's throws.    Sure we got the PI.  Some might celebrate that aspect.  But that throw highlights Bryce doesn't make those throws well.  Your WR shouldn't have to come to a complete stop and wait....when he has the guy clearly beat for the over the top play.  That's what the entire thing sets up.  Bryce rarely takes the shot.  When he does, it's generally not a great ball.
    • Sorry to hear that man. Keep that chin up, Panthers aren't worth taking up any headspace. You got this
    • Kinda of like when Hurney went on a GM search as a consultant and the best candidate he found was himself, lol!
