it really is simple. fix the o-line and the rest will fall into place.

running a vanilla offense means that we have to win in the trenches. we can't. fixing the o-line will help.

if we don't we will hopefully run plays that take pressure off of the greatest weakness. aka screens, rollouts, quick passes, ect.

but fix the fuging o-line gettleman

Tonight was Newton's best completion % performance ever in a preseason game 3.

2011 - 31%

2012 - 40 %

Tonight - 52%

Cam will be fine... worry about the OL. One that has Williams running at an all time low this time of year. Newton will be the same big play machine he has been.....and we are running the standard Rivera preseason plan of running a vanilla O that takes away all his comfort plays.

Cam is fine. He produced record offense here each year following those all important game 3's

Bravo (slow clap)

If you know anything about football and you watched last night's game you'd realize that the OL is garbage right now... Cam barely had time to set his feet and no room to step up in the pocket to escape the pressure.

Most of the throws he made were under extreme duress with one of his o-linemen in his lap and his poise under those conditions was excellent.

Like Gettleman said, the hog mollies allow you to compete and right now in this vanilla offense we're running our hog mollies are not allowing us to compete.

Two things after I've watched the first half

- If we make it to next Thursday without adding a legitimate player on the OL, there's a dent perception wise in Gettleman's armor. I just watched our star QB get hurt because our "starting" RG missed an assignment because he's also the backup at LG and very clearly has no idea how the position works. Unacceptable.

That huge Lafell drop is also unacceptable.

- I've decided on willing to part with something important to legitimately address the OL. I feel strong enough about the rest of the roster that I believe we can make a run and it's worth making a move to insure that that crucial spot on the team does not hold us back.

Amen

I agree if we can't sign someone we need to trade for someone to legitimize the line. We honestly need a starter and at least a solid back up. The solid back up I'm convinced we can get via the waiver wire. A solid starter we may need to trade for.

My observations..Cam still holds on to the ball just a bit too long, which means the receivers are getting no seperation! Period Point blank! We need to see some intermediate and short routes even in a vanilla offense. This will negate the rush and make our O-Line look servicable. The "Bomb" Play is not always there, and it takes forever for it to come open. I like the thought of Lafell and Gettis X and Y, and smitty in the slot! Lots of damage potential.

When it comes to Cam, the attitude seem to automatically be, let's focus on what he's not doing right and beat away at it.

Drew Brees has only one TD so far this Pre-Season. Is anyone making much about it? NOPE! They are spinning his preseason as him having completed 75% of his throws, positive. Amazing that no one is mention the fact that Cam's completion percentage has increased from Pre-sesson to Preseason. Nope! Instead they much rather scream about how inaccurate he is everytime these Sports Announcers pick apart every ball he throws. As if none of the other QBs make bad throws. And if it's not the ball throwing, it's making something out of everything he's doing on the side line.

Talk about always looking for reasons to keep the negative light on this kid. Even worst is the amount of fickled Panther fans whose feels of Cam keep swaying based on every Sports' Announcers' critique of him.

Maybe it's time for your O-Line to stop looking "servicable" and start actually earning their keep. That is the problem I've been having with this team and the attitude seemed to be shared by many of it's fans. U expect put so much unnecessary pressure on Cam to be perfect, while simply willing to settle for "servicable" from those who you should be expecting a much higher standard.
