Anyone else find it funny that suddenly, "sophmore slumps" arent even possible anymore?

Randy Moss and Brian Urlacher said they weren't sure about RG3 because of his injury. That was on Fox Sports 1. It's no really the same because they don't question him as a player but they did question his health.

The funniest thing about the slump is it never really happened. Cam didn't play that poorly early in the year and he didn't play that great at the end of the year. He basically had a mirror season to his rookie year. It was perceived as a slump because of the embarrassing loss on the NFL network and all his press conference drama. But his numbers were about the same. He reduced his interceptions, as a team the Panthers had their 2nd best year ever in turnovers.

But really I think we need to let it go. We've had this circle the wagons, "everyone hates us" mentality for the past 3 seasons. I am at peace with the way the media covers us. I understand that they have no integrity and everything  that comes out of their mouths is designed to generate ratings and web hits. It doesn't reflect poorly on our franchise. It reflects poorly on their industry and viewers. ESPN and now Fox Sports 1 is geared towards young gullible men. They are the most easily influenced demographic by advertising. They buy AXE Body Spray and Bud Light because the box tells them to.

Lol at hearing and seeing what we want.

I know all offseason we heard how Cam needed to cut down on his turnovers, and how he was going to go through the dreaded sophomore slump. Fast forward to this offseason, last season Andrew throws more int's and has a lower completion %, yet we don't hear about his possible slump or "he needs to cut down on the turnovers." Heard that all offseason.

Just because you choose to overlook it, and turn a blind eye to it, doesn't mean the rest of us have to.

I'm indifferent to Luck, Wilson, and RG3 but I really don't understand all of the love for Kaepernick.  His actual play at QB is sometimes highly suspect, played only like 11 games, and I just don't think he's worth the overall attention he's given.  He is so incredibly hyped-up but I just don't see it considering what Cam and RG3 bring to the table in comparison.

I mean seriously...

yea and I have heard the same poo for three years...every year it's something new, theyre hating on Cam for this or for that, they hate the Panthers because they did this or said that or didn't mention this....

gets so old. But whatever you need to think to make yourself feel special.

the media does this to many teams and many players, you just feel it's personal because it's about a team you root for and that blinds you to reality of media and journalism.... again gets old...

All I know is I tired of rg3 this rg3 that 24/7 non-stop rg3 coverage. What has that ugly dude ever done to deserve that much attention. I mean holy poo

Probably the whole Heisman trophy, rookie of the year, record passing rating, playoff game, pro bowl nod and big market team.

What more would you ask him to do before he gets media coverage?

Yep everyone hates Cam and hates the Panthers, one big conspiracy.

You guys hear and see what you want to. That is all this is, get the fug over it.

Coming from the guy that has routinely gone out of his way to bash our quarterback and pile on at every opportunity. Then you proceed to complain about people making threads about him. I'm sure you don't see it.

I wouldn't say the myth concerning Cam being a running QB was all the media's fault.  He didn't run a pro offense at Auburn, and I would say most of the damage he did in college was with his feet.  That is to say, his opponents was more afraid of him running the ball than throwing it.  Yet if you look at his stats by themselves, his efficiency was through the roof.  His touchdown to inteception ratio was Manning-like.  A lot of fans probably didn't look at those stats.  I think they just focused on his running ability and the fact he didn't run a pro offense.

I hear ya/Thanks. Nonetheless, Cam wouldn't have been the first #1 pick to come out of a spread offense or non pro-set to be drafted #1 or very high. So that wasn't it. Nothing unusual about that.

The Panthers, other teams, and in depth scouting services, broke down film of all of Cam's passes and throws that they could get their hands on. And when they looked, they saw that he had great poise in the pocket; a strong arm, better accuracy than given credit for, and great leader ship skills to back up that threw the roof 180 QB rating that you mentioned.

It's just that most people didn't know, didn't care, or didn't pay attention to it. So not corroborating the Arm and pocket presence NFL types already knew of. And surprisingly Auburn's offense, wasn't as simple as some thought it to be. I'm talking about NFL people now. Not the media. Fans and media can believe what they want. But NFL people broke down the film, and did the interviews. Media and fans did not. And with Cam, they liked what they saw. It just wasn't talked about much (just like positive attributes of Cam now).

He was already the clear #1 pick before the draft, despite what many talking heads wanted you to believe. Even Mel Kiper (belatedly) had to concede that, even before the draft.

Thanks for your comments, response.

Remember when they said Gabbert was a better prospect than Cam?................LOL

Vividly. It was more than a few people. I'll leave it at that.

Some on this board considered him a good pick if we decided to take a quarterback. These are the same people that pop up when Cam shows a hint of struggle and say I told you so. I would laugh, if it weren't so dreadfully sad.

I was absolutely baffled by the Gabbert hype on this board and in the media. Even Mayock had him as his #1 QB. I don't watch college football, but when I watched a few of his games, I saw David Carr or Jimmy Clausen.

look at this poo. the guy flat out sucks.

spread offense, shotgun, snap, panic, run around, throw it away.

no thanks.
