When can we blame Cam?

Damn a lot of people took a whole bottle of stupid pills today.

Can't really say I can blame them though.  I feel like a broken man today I would have probably swallowed any bottle of pills I could find too.

all the mouthbreathers come out in force after a loss.

a pantherfanforlife sighting and we'll have come full circle

I didn't punctuate that right. He is a game manager with a rocket arm AT BEST. Meaning with coaching that is all he will ever be, never a sharpshooter. He managed well today, no turnovers from Cam, made a few easy throws.

2 years in....he has generated more offense than anyone in NFL history.....

Nothing about Newton suggests he is a game manager at best.

I think he will be great, but if you wanted to be pessimistic you would be more accurate to say he at best is a big play machine.

Cam had a couple misses. People always quote % completion but you really have to watch the game. Cam threw a bad pass to Olsen on the first drive. It was catchable but he could have placed it better. Then he threw a bad pass to Smitty that should have been picked off. There was probably 3-5 passes that were off. Even if catchable the good QBs make them catch and runnable.

One of the most annoying things to me about Cam is when the read isn't there he looks to run. Sometimes it works out great and he breaks off a 20 yard run. But more and more frequently the defenses are surrounding and collapsing on him and he ends up taking a bad sack. It happened twice today, the penalty bailed him out on one. He needs to keep moving in the pocket and look for someone to come open imo. Cam really is a statue in the pocket. He can leave the pocket and be dangerous in the open field but those little sidesteps are not his strong point.

Honestly, take a peek at what The Raider, Buccaneer, Jaguar, Viking, Cowboy, etc fans are going through. Consider yourself extremely fortunate to have a Cam Newton. Each one of those squads would kill to have a QB like Cam on their team.

Romo>Cam, but its close...so you just said Cam is better than Romo, Freeman, Gabbert, Ponder, and Pryor...is that all you got, better than those ballers!

    • I wanted someone to hire him so we got the picks, but I'm also not upset that he'll now be back. I genuinely don't understand why so many fans on here dislike him so much.  No, he's not perfect and made some mistakes this year, especially at the end of the playoff game and going so soft in coverage on the final drive. But considering this place torched him all offseason for us having the "worst defense in NFL history" last year.  Said in the whole pre-draft process how we had to go defense in round 1 because of it and then complained the rest of the offseason that we didn't do enough to improve the defensive roster. How do people say all that about the defense and then complain when he turned that same unit into a pretty respectable defense this year.  They were really the only reason we were in a lot of games for most of the season, as the middle part of the season they really stepped up and were playing like one of the better defenses in the league. I don't see any reason we can't improve even more next year if we spend another offseason focusing on adding pieces on that side of the ball, which we should be able to do with our draft picks and cap space.
    • And they are perfect during the month of February! The fact they're 11th in the league now, but best in the league since Dec 6 tells you everything you need to know.
