First Take even knows Rivera isn't the Answer.

who's job is it to come up with a game plan their players can win with?

who's job is it to make sure the players are capable of carrying out that gameplan?

who's job is it to make adjustments during the game when their plan isn't working out right?

who's job is it to prepare the players to handle clutch situations?

who's job is it to make sure that their players are in the right position to win?

who's job is it to make sure their players play disciplined football and avoid dumb mistakes?

who's job is it to look at game tape afterward, find out what works and didn't work...including decisions they made...and then change what they do?

who's job is it to look at what their players are failing to execute and make sure that they do better the next week or formulate a game plan that their player can execute?

who's job is it to make sure that they can win with the guys they have on the team?

Rayzor I am completely on the same wavelength.  Watching our first two games again something astounding jumped out at me.  We played fairly terrible in both games offensively, yet both games were still very winnable.  How is it that we can look at those performances, and know they're not even close to the output we can reach and still be in a position to win the games.  It's certainly not a talent issue.  How could a team with talent problems play poorly and still be in the game?  Obviously our defense is talented enough to play against any offense in the league.  The offense should be capable of imposing it's will against the best D's as well, hell they practice against one of the best.  The answer, coaching, or lack thereof, our coaching staff is getting the absolute minimum out of our talent.

While I too believe that it is definitely time to make a move away from Rivera, it is far from entirely his fault.

2-14 in one score games is a daunting stat...and is an indictment against Rivera.  However, one could also make a case that it is an even bigger indictment against the players.  Rivera put the team in a position to win time and time again late in the game....to only see the execution and play on the field not deliver.

Take this Sunday for instance......

The defense handed the offense the ball inside Buffalo's 30 yard line twice, and all the offense could deliver was 2 FG's.  One drives stat line was.....7 plays for 7 yards and a FG.  That is pathetic and is as much (probably more) the fault of the offense (and yes Cam too) as it is the coaching staff's.

We crucify the coaching staff (rightfully so) while continuing to make excuses for Cam and the offense.

So its Cam and the offenses fault that they werent smart enough to know that Byron Bell couldnt block a blow up doll? Who gave him the starting position? Did they change the offense to this ineffective crap that we are seeing now? These issues that we see from the beginning of the game till the end not just certain situations.

Cam wasn't calling the plays, he never forced Rivera to run the ball six times in a row. Please, save it.

I'm not defending the coaching but talent wise we have major problems in the secondary and almost as bad is the offensive line plus a questionable receiving corp. Those are huge talent issues to overcome. We have some key talent but have major lack of it in several areas.

What a load of garbage. It wasn't Cam who chose to go into the the 4th quarter to play for a field goal instead of a touchdown. It wasn't the offense who choose to keep running the ball instead of doing a pass play to pick up the fugging first down. It wasn't the offense who decided to  kick a field goal and give the ball back to the opposing team to have them march down on our depleted secondary.

Watching rivera give the ball back to the bill was was almost the exact same situation as last year against the falcons. A good coach would realize if relying on your defense to close out a game failed before maybe it will fail again. You are ridiculous in saying that a 2-14 record with 7 or less points could be more of an indictment against the players. The coach makes the decisions. The coach manages what plays the team runs. This is all on rivera.
