Mobile QBs = Panther's D-Line > Standard Pocket QB

After watching today's game, it confirms what most of us thought after seeing our D perform against the Seahawks.  In that game, if it weren't for Russell Wilson's mobility, we would have put up a bunch of sacks. (And we probably would have shut them out)  In week two, the D-line wasn't as good, but again we went up against a somewhat mobile QB in EJ Manuel.  Today, we went up against your more standard stationary QB.  We lit Eli up.  So with that in mind, when we play Matt Ryan and Drew Brees, we should dominate them for big victories.  I'm mad at the way we wasted those first two games, but I believe this defense will win us a bunch of games this season in pretty big fashion.

You might be on to something here. I always thought the advantage Cam and the panthers had over other team was his dynamic play making ability. Then all of sudden the league balloon with those types which kind of offset that edge when we play those types. I think the giant defensive players said the same thing after they played the redskins last year. Luckily our division doesn't have any thus we can feast for a little while.

Honestly?  Our secondary also played better.  As did our linebackers.  Overall the defense had a superior performance I think.

Do you say thing just to get pie?

I like the sound of feasting.  Matty Ice (aka Vanilla Ice) already experienced the pain of facing Hardy and CJ before, and now we have Star and Short to add to the mix.  There's one thing I will say about Rivera, he's built a defense that can dominate this division.  Yet then again, two of them were Fox's players and everyone would have picked up Lotulelei.  So I'll give Ron credit for picking up Kawaan Short, and of course coaching all these guys.

    • Ha-ha, I bet that went through everyone's mind.  Admittedly I don't read all the comments in a thread before I make a post. Great minds think alike!
    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
    • I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
