Server Upgrade Tonight...

Zod

Recommended Posts

On our current refresh, we just ordered 6 servers with 1TB of RAM each.  I'm in sciency nerd heaven.

I just did an RFP a few weeks ago for an international firm that is moving to the Cisco UCS platform. We have 10 chasis coming with 6TB of RAM and 360 cpu cores each for a total of 60TB of RAM and 3,600 cpu Cores.. along with 900TB of storage on Netapp FCoE filers. Insane things you can do these days.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the Radio Shack TRS ("Trash")-80. The latest and greatest....

Zod, let me know if you want to do a Kickstarter campaign to help fund this bad boy....

We had this very computer in my 6th grade classroom.  If I'm adding that up right that would be circa 1983.  Don't think we had the fancy monitor though... probably just used old B&W TVs

Thats what we used in high school too, yep around 1983.  They had no hard drive.  We also programmed COBOL using a punch card machine.

Wow I got one of those for Christmas. I believe I was about 5. I would sit and write programming code from the manual.

Simple executing code that would turn the screen blue or red. I just knew I was on my way.Talk about flashback.

    • If you need someone to run your multi-billion dollar business, maaayyyybe don't hire a guy whose previous work experience includes repeated blows to the head and literal brain damage but IDK.
    • Extrapolate that with every QB for that matter. I guarantee you there's quite a bit of missed opportunities and yards left on the field for everyone. Many NFL QBs deal with WRs not putting in A+ effort, subpar o-line play and other deficiencies. The great ones are able to rise above these issues and create opportunities for plays. Guys like Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes can both play in and out of structure, as well as find ways to get yards when things break down and mask mistakes by throwing guys open, creating opportunities from nothing, etc. Bryce Young has only shown he's able to make things happen when the rest of the team picks up his slack. Very rarely does he create those opportunities himself. When this is a consistent pattern year after year with Bryce where he shows up lackluster, it's a concern. This is year three and he should be elevating the team as a first overall pick this franchise traded up for.  He was far from elevating anyone against JAX. In fact, he needed others to elevate and create for him. Excuses may be fine for a rookie, but this is year three for the first overall pick. Not looking good so far.
    • I think the worst issue is coaching. Countless bad snaps, XL not getting his feet in or trying on runs plays, our centre being down field when he didn't need to be. All seem to be from poor coaching for me. I believe Canales is to soft to rip the players a new one when the fug up. Plus I honestly believe that Canales is slow getting his plays in giving Bryce less time to diagnose and adjust to the defence. Don't worry I could of head butted Bryce for that fumble and the 4th down throw aways but the other plays are explainable to me
