Chances are pretty high if he continues & brings up his level of play. Like I said before, our schedule favors him, playing against backs like:

AP

Doug Martin

Stephen Jackson

Pierre Thomas

Frank Gore/Kendall Hunter

Marshawn Lynch (played and shutdown)

CJ Spiller (played and contained til the end)

Being a big part of shutting these guys down could get him the credit he deserves. He will need to show out against AP/Jackson/Gore

It's tough for DL to win because of the lack of stats, even more so for a 0. A 3 would have a better shot IMO, though I certainly think he's deserving.

While this has been true in the past, I believe it will change due to the fact that places like PFF and football outsiders are getting more recognition by gigantic sports media entities

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
