Beason traded?

If Beason never relinquished the spot to Kuechly and wasn't ravaged with injuries since 2011, and he wasn't struggling on the field, he'd still be on the team, but he's doing all those things, and if this were some nameless player none of you guys with your fuging constant "BEASTONZZZZZ DA MAN" rhetoric would give two shits

i didn't read all 40 pages of this thread and don't know if it's been mentioned, but i'm willing to bet a beason trade is just as much a desire of beason to play mlb again somewhere else as it is carolina wanting out of a contract.

i wouldn't be surprised if a condition of agreeing to his contract restructure was to be traded.

Because people are acting like he is garbage...

The disrespect in this thread for what Beason has accomplished is phenomenal.

Sure he is a shell of his former self but what does this team gain by trading him?

Unless we find out that Beason asked to be traded after losing his starting job, then I will stick to my guns and say that this trade is not worth it.

No one is disrespecting him. He just has little value to our team anymore with Luke being the captain of the ship.

By trading him we are getting something for nothing because he isn't getting reps, we have Klein, and he would be gone at the end of the season regardless.

lol over the outrage at him potentially being traded for a 7th round pick when it's likely he wouldn't be contributing much the rest of the year and in a few months we would have been letting him get away for nothing.

at least in new york he's got a shot at a starting gig. it's the most sure thing for him going. here he was playing behind blackburn who he'd lost his 2nd starting gig to.

sad, but even if it's a7th rounder, it's a win/win just because, despite his past value as a player and leader on the team, he'd been relegated to just a guy on the sideline.

this is now luke kuechly's defense. it became that last year....which is when beason became expendable.

The funny thing about the Huddle is that everybody reacts like they know everything... For example:

If I would have started a thread 3 days ago saying that we should trade Beason for a 7th round pick, I would have been overwhelmingly FLAMED off of this site. The very people who are applauding this deal would have been the first ones calling me a moron btw.

Now that Beason looks to be traded pending a physical those people are singing praises about how smart this was.

BS!!!!!!!!!

The reality is we got something for him rather than getting nothing at the end of the season. That's the only real positive to this deal.

In the words of Thomas Davis "It's a Sad Day"

In my own words its a sad day for the Organization... Yeah we got a measly pick for a Panthers Legend. How Awesme right? Pfffff

This is how the NY Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, Green Bay Packers, etc., of the world are run (i.e. good teams/GM's). You can't always fall, and (especially) stay in love. Sorry.

And I don't want to hear anyone talk about their current bad records. Because all these teams have won multiple super bowls during the Panthers existence.

yeah agree....love the dude but damn he isn't the same player he was before the injury and it isn't even up for discussion.

people on notice!

That's how you earn respect on this forum. I can't count how many times I'd been flamed for making a prediction and it ended up coming true.

Why is it a sad day? Does every panthers player that does their job well for a few years need their jersey retired, to be hired as an assistant coach, erected a statue in their likeness, and have their testicles enshrined in the concourse?

It canbe looked at two ways:

1- The Panthers hooked up a veteran by trading him to a team who desperately needs a MLB and gives him a chance to re-spark his career

2- The Panthers shatted on Beason and insulting everything he's ever stood for by trading a late round pick for him

Or 3

Yay! We gets a 7th round draft pick!

Sorry

A one legged Beason can't be any worse than the LBs that the Giants have now.

    • With Schoen and Dan Morgan being tight I’d figure we knew this was coming and since he is released, Dan didn’t bite.    But, a quick search says this is at least 80% cap related. They have No cap space and save 8 or 9 million with releasing him.  He has been a captain his entire time there. 145 tackles this year.  They are picking 5th with a new staff and looking at Styles. Hitting that age 30 season and had a disc issue last year (meaning 2024) that did not require surgery.  I haven’t really watched him play but he activated the antennae.
    • OK, we are letting our top RB go.  We have Chuba, Etienne, and Brooks.  Imagine a player who could LEGITIMATELY play the slot and back up at RB?  I am sure he'd be a special team player as well.  I noticed him at the combine, and thought, "Here is a late rounder who could stand out as a slot and provide depth at RB. Without further ado....(I know one Huddler who might be able to tell us more about this guy): Navy running back/wide receiver Eli Heidenreich headlined the 2026 NFL Combine for the Midshipmen, running an official 4.44-second 40-yard dash and recording 16 reps on the bench press. Recognized as a versatile, "Swiss army knife" offensive weapon, Heidenreich solidified his draft stock as a potential day three target.    Eli Heidenreich (RB/WR - Navy) 2026 Combine Performance: 6'0" 200 lbs.   40-Yard Dash: 4.44 seconds. 10-Yard Split: 1.55 seconds. Vertical Jump: 35.5 inches. Broad Jump: 10' 0". Bench Press: 16 Reps. Highlights: Showcased as a premier receiving threat from the backfield, having left Navy as the program's all-time leader in receiving yards (1,994). High character.  Smart.  Maybe, just maybe....
    • These refs are horrible.  They definitely got money on this game lol.
