Overbearing Jerry's

JR is so bad I'd hate to see him as GM....good lord could you imagine?

At least JJ is legitimately trying hard to put a winning team on the field...JR is trying to just make a lot money.

I'll take a guy who doesn't spend money over a guy who spends it stupidly.

But with that said, this notion that Richardson doesn't care about winning is one of the silliest arguments made on this board.  Nobody who's actually worked with him gives that notion any credibility at all.

Richardson wants to win.  He just hasn't put it together yet.  But I think he made a huge step forward this past season hiring Dave Gettleman.

Richardson has a funny way of showing that he wants to win.

2 Lame Duck coaches in less than 5 years...boy like I said...I'd hate to see him in charge of other things.

His idea of what it takes to build a winning franchise is hilarious at best....he should step away and let someone else make the decisions.

He should go back to owning restaurants and bringing in profits because that's all he's good at.

He did let someone else make all the decisions.  Unfortunately, the guy he let do that was a sports writer.

There's an actual football guy in charge now, and I think we'll see the difference within the next few years.

(and probably after a coaching change)

    • In all honesty, no one knows if Dan really pushed for Bryce to be drafted. It's not fair to Dan to say that just because he was a part of the Fitterer regime then he was in full support of drafting Bryce. If the HC, Reich at the time really wanted Stroud but got bullied into drafting Bryce then Dan had even less say so in the matter. Dan was also saddled with giving Bryce an opportunity to compete in years 2/3 because of the cost to trade up and get him by ownership.  Outside of managing the QB position, Dan has made good moves and built a decent roster. Solidified the O-line and D-line, drafted contributors, and made good trades (Mike Jackson), and free agent signings (Dowdle). I do believe that this offseason will be really important for Dan and we'll see whose side he is clearly on. Bryce has had plenty of time and opportunity to prove himself and he has failed, if Dan is a Bryce homer he'll give him another year and pick up the 5th year option. If Dan isn't a Bryce homer, he'll move on from Bryce. Either way, we'll find out this offseason.
    • You also have to extend him and probably deal/cut Bryce
    • Jones would be what he is if he was on this team, a fairly middle of the road game manager. Still and upgrade but probably not worth the price the 49ers may want for him. If it's not something stupid in terms of ask and he doesn't want something even more stupid in terms of longish term contract, I am okay with a middling game manager until we can do better through the draft. The one thing that wouldn't be terrible is some stability at QB. That has almost never happened under Tepper.
