Something's up....

Good point on Stewart, but I bet armond smith is cut when he comes back. No need for four rb's and two fb's.

I hope A. Smith will be cut when Stew comes back. This guy has stupid penalties in every game. I don´t get what RR sees in him. He is not that big time Special Teams contributor.

I am also waiting for something to happen today, we can´t go into the next game with three open spots and only four WRs. Sure we can put Barner in, but I don´t believe this is the plan.

In regards to the topic at hand, it's not a bad theory and if it were some other team I'd buy into it. Not the Panthers though. If we need another WR due to injuries I half expect Captain to line up at flanker. He's short enough to fit our profile and I *think* he has more catches than Armanti did in the same time period.

Some may think RR sees nothing in his stoic stare, but I know what he sees. 8-8. Think about it. 6-10, 7-9 and now 8-8. Just a natural progression. Some of you dumbasses don't realize that this means that we will be 12-4 in JUST four more years!! And 16-0 in eight years!! In the 2020's we will rule the NFL. So you Rivera nut-squeezers need to back off of Riv and let him weave his magic. The future is bright!!

Did we instantly become a better team just by releasing him? He was also our emergency qb. There are a lot of people on the 53 that don't see the field. It's called depth. How the hell does a player go from bring the training camp MVP to cut after week 5?

Something is wrong with that picture

The timing of the cut seems odd to me. Unless you plan on upgrading the position what is the purpose?

Trade deadline is 10/29 and we're clearing roster spots... you never know.

I don't think we trade for Gordon, too many off field issues. I honestly think we trade for Nicks... Giants know he's going to walk after this season and they clearly have quite a few needs to address so they might as well get some value for him.

We aren't trading for anyone.

Gettlemen isn't going to waste resources while RR is here. All resources will go to a new coach and his team.

Only think up is DG is starting the chopping. All trademark Hurney guys will be gone....slowly.

It's pretty simple. Cut the players that have done absolutely nothing on the team. Every single player on our roster contributes to the team, whether they play good or not. They actually do something. AE did nothing for this team.

Great point :-)

Teams don't need to cut players in preparation for trades.

This.

I was going to say, why wouldn't Gettleman make the trade first then cut AE if that was the master plan. You don't cut a player first then go out and hope you can make a trade. AE was simply wasting space and Gettleman showed him the door.

I think the only thing that is up is going to be a active off season

Probably correct, but here's a question to ponder...

Given that we have 3 open roster spots, are we saying there are not 3 players sitting at home or on someone else's practice squad that could come in and help put out this brush fire of a season?

Because if there are and we choose to sit on our hands, Gettleman is telling the team and fans that we have no interest in winning this year. Great way to start his tenure.
