The problem with Cam Newton

..................is that he's making me look dumb for having doubted him a few weeks ago! :) I'm still not convinced he won't fold under pressure if we make the playoffs and have a close game late, but I'm finally seeing signs of progress in the second halves of game (even though we did have a predictable 3 & out in the 4th at a bad time.) I mean, I like to think him playing well lately is because he read that I was posting mean things about him online lol.

Otherwise nothing much to complain about. Since we're about to go 4-3 (because there's no chance in hell we lose to Mike Glennon I will literally kill myself if we do), I'm weirdly, what is this feeling, optimism? How many of you can even remember a happy Huddle? How many of you guys were even here in 2008?

Part of Cam's improvement is that the team around him has improved some. Lafell is becoming more consistent. Ginn is someone that the defense really has to account for. Steve Smith, while not as fast as he use to be, is still very good. And Greg O is a real threat. And the offensive's play has been adequate in pass blocking.

U folks still don't believe me when I say some folks created Thread on Cam simply to get attention? This is proof positive.

Can't wait for it to end up 5 pages long.

No it was because cam had issues. Glad to see him make improvements but he still needs to prove he can come from behind nad help the team win close games.

    • Taking only players from the sheet that are realistically available in or after the listed round, I’d like… 1st: DT Caleb Banks (Styles not realistic) 2nd: LB Jacob Rodriguez 3rd: OT Best available from Bowry, Barber, and Casey 4th: CB Daylen Everette 5th: S Jalen Huskey 6th: RB Adam Randall 7th: IOL Best available from Lemieux, Dawkins, Leausa, and Brose   I know nothing about some of the players listed, but it seems like that would be the best way it could fall for now. I’m sure the list of who we meet will change a ton, and there will also be players we don’t meet with to keep quiet. I’d love to pick up Randall in the late rounds.
    • Not what I said. They know within the building why we aren't utilizing TEs more. If the rumors were true that we were seriously pursuing a couple of decent receiving TEs that strongly points toward a lack of quality receiving TEs currently on the roster. Does that mean we consider drafting one at 19? I don't know, but it wouldn't shock me and if we did there's only one guy it would be. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see TE drafting somewhere in the first three rounds.
    • Yeah, I don’t know. Tepper was behind the Bryce selection. Behind firings and hiring over his lack of development.  He doesn’t have to literally tell them their hands are tied for them to know this. It is in the air constantly. The Canales Bryce play calling was even portrayed by more than one person as Canales failing Bryce, instead of Bryce being responsible for his own performance (except when he does well, then it is all him). Now they have an extra coach in, to help the new OC get results from this QB.  The atmosphere is not welcoming to prototypical young QBs that have talent. You get Jake Plummer types or old vets. I think we are stuck.
