Giants reportedly "desperate at running back"

I don't think they're desperate enough to take JStew, whose injury problems could leave them right back at square one minus whatever they traded for him.  I COULD however possibly see us trading them Deangelo for a small price if Gettleman and crew are confident in JStew's availability.  Deangelo has at least a couple of years of solid play left and would give the Giants a couple of years to find a long term solution.  Like I said, in this scenario I don't see us getting much for him but it would keep the Panthers to Giants pipeline open.

Giants season is done. Serves no purpose taking on an expensive injury prone RB.

They could find a Poole type RB

Exactly.  They waited too late in the season to make a desperation roster move.  Too late to salvage the season at this point, it's over.  Might as well just have their scout team focusing on OL and RBs because that's what they desperately need.

The giants' season is over, they aren't going to do any blockbuster deal for a RB at this point, unless they can get an incredibly one sided deal.

They will wallow through the season with some sort of RB by committee type scenario and address the issue in the off season.

Blockbuster deals for RBs also are always epic fails.....you don't trade for RBs.

    • Mr. 0-2 every year to start the season in his career. Last year was the first year he ever played a week 3 game.
    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
