The Complete Mike Mitchell "Targeting" Article

He will get another one for accusing Goodell of pocketing what goes to charity. But if his is fine with it I am too.

Technically, he isn't wrong.  Even if the money collected goes to charity.  In general, contributions to charitable organizations may be deducted up to 50 percent of adjusted gross income computed without regard to net operating loss carrybacks.

So, anytime an organization is "donating money to charity" they are allowed the same tax write off as individuals who donate their money.

It is an interesting thing to keep in mind when all these companies donate money to "charity".  In a lot of cases, the organizations recieving the donations are not as straight forward with their books.  Meaning after the lucrative tax write off the money might not always be used for the "good of society" like we are led to believe it is.

Regardless, the NFL is compensated for the donation come tax time, so he is correct in saying it goes into the pockets of Roger Goodell and the NFL.
