So who draws the Gonzo assignment on Sunday?

Sounds like Gonzo wants to be traded... so there's a chance no one will be covering him if the Falcons suck it up and do the right thing.

it's funny because the only reason they have him in the first place was because the chiefs wanted to do right by him and offered to trade him to a young and upcoming team who were legit playoff contenders.

it's a shame that the team that won out on that deal hit it's peak without a SB win (well, not really) and has now fallen back down won't do right by him and give him to a team who's likely to actually win more than one playoff game.

right now, i am a fan of gonzo and think that he should be traded back to the chiefs. and that should happen as soon as possible. let that man retire with a winning season and on a team that isn't as likely to disappoint as the falcons.

and that has absolutley nothing to do with it making a bad falcons team even worse (lol).

    • when we drafted Bryce Young that team might have been more talented than the team we currently have ?  that was the whole reasoning behind morgagting  our immediate future to trade up to #1 overall for BY. our front offices & owners felt like hey guess what the time is now to srike while the iron is hot go hire an All Star coaching staff we were only a Qb away from taking that next step ..just saying
    • I just dont get the worry over losing a practice squad player that just went undrafted. Everyone just made their selections. The chances of a team wanting to sign him to an active roster after not selecting him is very low.  If that interested they would have taken him late to evaluate in person. As far as I can tell two qbs were signed off another teams practice squad last season and they were both going in to their 5th season.
    • I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.
