What Dolphins Fans are Saying...

This definitely has the makings of a letdown game.  They're at home and they are desperate.  Panthers have never beat Miami.   Sounds about right for the Panthers to win all the tough games, then come out against a mediocre, scandal-ridden Miami team and lay an egg.

Yes, the score of the game is no indicator.

Good lord.

I agree with you, but to be fair, if Ridley wasn't a human fumbling machine, and that last play was called PI on keek (which 98% of the time it would have been), then the Pat's score 34 points against us. Also, they got the ball pretty easily into our territory every single drive

might want to skip this post if you don't want to read a serious rant

and this might upset some but I think it is the elephant in the room so oh well...

Beat reporters, and people in Zod's position, have a surprising amount of influence on organizations in this day in age. Similar to Gantt, when you have people in those positions focus on trolling and snark, and bypass honest, fair and knowledgeable football discussion... it can derail the direction of an organization more than many would like to admit. The fact that words like poo and fug are the 2 most uttered words here says quite a bit about what the focus here is. The fact that Zod's only approach to this thread is trolling, SCOREBOARD!, snark, is not a great sign that we are headed in the right direction either.

Melvin White was getting abused, and committed some bad penalties (yes, Brady was clearly targeting him), and losing CJ for the better part of the second half thanks to the dirty o-lineman disrupted our pressure.  You can see when he reentered the game late he made an immediate impact, even on the gimpy knee.

I don't care about sack numbers, no one here should underestimate his value to the entire defensive performance, all the way back to the secondary.

And Captain, please catch at least one of these INT's that seem to ricochet off your hands every game.

We did great though to keep everything short and in front and not get burned by any deep plays, I can only think of the Gronk 4th and 10 conversion and that long pass to Thompkins which set up the Ridley TD from the 1 yard line.

I'm extremely proud of this team, and I don't feel that Rivera will allow anyone to have a let down.

if?  but he did...

I mean, you are "if-ing" things to a NE slant.   For example, suggesting that final drive would be score if not for the penalty.  What if early in the drive we picked off Brady...we had two defenders drop the same potential INT.

I'm not going to bother supporting the following statement with stats, hopefully common sense will be enough.  In the NFL the better team wins an overwhelming amount of the time.  Thus it's not surprising that the better teams end up in the playoffs each year.  Carolina is better than Miami by a wide margin at this point in time.

Cam > Tannehill (Tannehill is a ..good.. developing young QB, but this isn't even close.)

Smith/Lafell/Ginn/Olsen > Wallace/Hartline/Matthews/Clay (Wallace would compete for best WR on the field but as a group I give our guys the edge)

Williams/Stewart/Tolbert/Cam > Miller/Thomas (Miami's running game is respectable but Cam puts us over the top here again)

Offensive line (Carolina grades out better in every meaningful category, Martin and Incognito both gone now as well)

Defense (Does this merit any discussion whatsoever? )

Special Teams (Field Goal % Carolina, Touchbacks Carolina, Punting Miami, Returns Push)

Summary, Carolina is better over the entire field.  Biggest concerns Carolina will have on defense, don't let Wallace blow the top off our secondary, seriously doubt protection will hold up long enough for that to happen anyway.  On offense....Cameron Wake.  Overall, be disciplined on Special teams and don't allow Miami to change the game cheaply and protect the ball.  Do these things and the better team will win...Carolina!

I only said "if" because he was comparing how well we did holding Brady to 20 points. Which we DID. I get it. Just saying, that was very, very, VERY close to being 34 points. Of course if you're going with the retarded "you said IF" argument, than there is no point of even having a message board since everything would be 100% black and white, cut and dry. no opinions needed

To the folks complaining about the defense "not getting off the field on third down", while I agree 100% about the missed tackles and disappearing rush please remember that they had like 7 drives all game, 1 which ended in a punt and two in turnovers.  Carolina's offense did pretty much the exact same thing to them except without the turnovers.  This is what happens when talented teams featuring both good offenses and good defenses play each other.

You cant count the last TO. It was a desperation heave to the in-zone from like the 25 yard line when our whole D knew that was what they were gonna do.

The fact of the matter is they marched right down the field on 6 of 7 possessions. Essentially we only stopped their O one time all game. That is beyond pathetic! 2 if you count Riddleys fumble. We stop them 2 times all game?

Before the final drive with 50 seconds left they scored on like 4 of 6 possessions. And it wasnt like they were getting short fields. Carolina was scoring right with them and they started about every drive from their own 20.

That was not a good performance and they better be able to get more stops against the Saints.

I believe this team is very focused. I truly believe it when our guys say "One game at a time". "The next game is the most important game"

If you wana be worried because the potential Miami has to beat us, then OK, but this team is focused and i seriously doubt we over look them, especially since we are 1 game away from New Orleans. Every game matters. ALOT
