Rob Ryan going to see a real defense then - he better bring some legal pad and take some notes.

Wow, loving the over confident Panther fans.

This sudden success is really getting to your heads. Prime time, in the dome, and you guys are so confident of a victory. It really is hilarious to me.

Yes, Carolina has an outstanding defense, which has carried the team all season long. However, the Saints have a top 5 defense, to go along with a top 5 offense.

What the Panthers don't have is a quarterback and coach that are true leaders and know how to win. I'm sure there are delusional Panther fans that also think Newton is on the same level of Brees, but I digress.

Having this game flexed is the worst thing that could've happened for you guys, and the Panthers are going to get embarrassed on national television.

Did the Saints make the playoffs last year? It's hilarious that every team ran train on your D last year. I also think its hilarious you think we will get embarrassed. Patriot's fans said the same thing. Drew Brees plays in a dome with artificial turf 8 games out of the year and is one of the most pampered qb's in the league (Brook's waxed that ass and was a legal hit).  And a qb that does not know how to win? How many games have we won in a row this year? We just beat Brady in primetime and your precious taints are next.

That's what the niners said....and the patriots....and our non leader of a QB has 3 straight game winning drives....both teams are familiar with each other....embarrassment either way is dumb to say

Yes, Carolina swept the Saints last season. Not only is that irrelevant to this season, but the Saints also went through more bull poo then any team ever has with bounty gate fiasco. They were a team in disarray. Me bringing up the Saints sweeping Carolina in 2011 would be just as relevant as bringing up last season.

The truth is both teams are completely different from last season.

I knew Carolina would have a stout defense, but they have really came along and are better than I thought they would be. They have arguably the best defensive front in the league. The offense is still stagnant, but the defense is good enough to keep games really close. The offense plays clock control, and that seems to work just fine.

The Saints defense is also very, very much improved. They are being severely underrated by people on here from what I've seen. They lead the league in sacks, and are a top 5 defense. The offense has its moments of looking sort of bland, but they are still potent and can score at any moment.

The difference in this game is Brees/Payton, and the fact that this game will be in New Orleans, for prime time. I have no idea why the Saints seem to really turn it on for prime time games, they just do, especially Brees. The average margin of victory is around 20 points I believe. If this were just a normal Sunday, noon kickoff, I'd really be worried about the game. If this game were in Carolina, I'd likely say the Saints will lose.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, we really have a Saints troll talking about sudden success going to the head?  Now if that isn't the pot calling the kettle black, I don't know what is.

Who was your favorite team before 2009?

    • That is just Panthers history pain speaking.
    • From what I gather, sure it allows you more room in that you can manipulate the cap more due to smaller prorated amounts to fit salaries in, but for cap purposes, you're still on the hook for the money at the end of the day.    "ChatGPT You said: What are the advantages for NFL teams to sign larger signing bonuses? ChatGPT said: NFL teams often use large signing bonuses as a strategic tool in contracts. While they cost real cash up front, they offer several advantages, especially when it comes to salary cap management, player retention, and negotiation leverage. Here's a breakdown of the benefits: ✅ 1. Salary Cap Flexibility Signing bonuses are prorated over the life of the contract (up to 5 years) for salary cap purposes. This allows teams to spread out the cap hit, even if the player receives the money immediately. Example: A $20M signing bonus on a 4-year deal counts only $5M/year against the cap. ✅ 2. Attracting Top Talent Players love signing bonuses because they're guaranteed money paid up front. Offering a bigger signing bonus can sweeten the deal without inflating yearly salaries. ✅ 3. Front-Loading Real Cash, Not Cap Teams with strong cash flow can pay big bonuses now while minimizing the immediate cap hit. Useful for teams trying to build around rookie QB contracts or with flexible cash budgets. ✅ 4. Locking in Key Players Larger bonuses make it harder for a player to be released early due to dead cap consequences. This can create more job security for the player and roster continuity for the team. ✅ 5. Leverage in Restructures Big signing bonuses create future cap hits via proration. Teams can later restructure deals (e.g., convert salary to bonus) to create even more cap space. ✅ 6. Competitive Edge In free agency, a team offering more guaranteed cash up front often wins the bidding war, even if the total contract value is lower than another team's. ⚠️ Key Caveat: Large signing bonuses increase dead cap risk if the player is cut or traded early."   I think that roster bonuses can be a useful tool if you're trying to keep players in by manipulating numbers and spreading the hit over time, but I don't think that it's something that you want to use unless it's "necessary." I don't know that you want to get into signing rookies on roster bonuses, as the bust rate is relatively high.
    • not even if that team in New Orleans disbands before the first game.  Saw one 2026 mock that had them drafting first next year.
