Salty Dolphins are Salty

He hit him in the chest and extended his arms...there was NOT helmet to helmet impact....and he did not hit him in the head.

The receiver's head clearly turns slightly back and significantly to his right upon initial contact in that gif, which is the exact opposite of what would happen if Luke only hit him in the shoudlers and chest - there was definitely minor helmet-to-facemask.  That said, I personally wouldn't have a problem with no flag if that were a Panthers receiver as it was a good aggressive football play where Luke was obviously trying to hit cleanly.  It's just a very strange coincidence that Luke had two flags picked up in the end zone in two separate games in a 7-day span.

Also, with this "back and to the right" talk I feel a bit like we're discussing the Zapruder film (although that was back and to the left).

Boohoo. That Clay "catch" was a load of bullshit. He didn't have possession going to the ground. I feel like after they saw he had it they stopped looking at the video. Like the video review if Trindon Holliday's TD return against us last year. They saw he didn't step out of bounds and stopped watching the tape.

Doesn't matter if you're a runner or defenseless it's against the rules to lay a shot like that on a player. I'm sure the bronco defender will be fined.

AFAIK, it's only a foul when it occurs if the player is rule defenseless. An established runner is not that.

Helmet to helmet contact or contact leading with the helmet is now a penalty in any case. Its supposed t be called even on offensive players now.

Just brought up on Monday night football. "Runners do not have protections in place like defenseless receivers and quarterbacks in the pocket" in reference to penalties.

There you go.

Their uncalled helmet to helmet had our QB spitting blood and playing in a daze for the entire first half.  I think that was worth more than four points.

What are the changes we see Cam wearing a mouthpiece next game? I feel like if he had had one in that it would have prevented him playing in a fog.

Not much considering he has to yell out audibles and snap counts. Im not sure I have ever seen an NFL QB wear one.
