We are getting a maid

To clean our house!

The stay at home wifey is pregnant so to help her out, I am ponying up to get someone to come clean the house 1-2 times a month. It's $85 each time they come, which I think is a fair price, but it's still expensive.

I got a maid a couple years ago when she was pregnant with our first child, our house was 1500 sq ft smaller, yet we were charged $100 for the cleaning....so I guess we are getting a descent deal.

I had one for almost 12 years at our previous residence and she charged me $75 and was there every other week to do the "heavy" cleaning since both of us worked a lot. I recommend you make it a point to give her/him specific projects on a regular basis, otherwise they simply get into a routine and just overlook certain things, like cleaning the window blinds or dusting the light fixtures...

I had a maid who had to have been on speed or some crazy drugs that FOCUS. I need some bc my Vivance is not strong enough.

She would clean the whole house spotless..minus baseboards or something minor.

Clean and organize the pantry, fridge, do all laundry, fold it, put it away in 6 hours and charged $50.

As suggested, she would do special projects like organize the closets or even cleaned up my garage when asked for no additional money.

I got her to work for a few friends but told her she needs to charge at least $75 bc of all the work she does for half the price.

I am pretty sure when I leave there are 12 people helping her.

I want her back!

    • I read that Pittsburgh is a possibility.  I think of college QB studs who had some form of mental quirk yet tons of talent--but their issue made being a team leader difficult and it led to their demise--going back:  Jamarcus Russell, Art Schlichter, Jeff George, etc. I think people forget that the QB must not only have talent, but they must lead.
    • I wish I knew more details, but the NIL money to 20-year olds combined with easy access to gambling sites is a side effect that these kids may not have considered.  To your point,A famous 2009 Sports Illustrated article titled “How (and Why) Athletes Go Broke” estimated that 78% of retired NFL players go bankrupt or face significant financial stress within two years of leaving the league.  I am guessing that ego and $$$ and the thrill of competition (most pro athletes love competition because they are the winners) makes it a powerful temptation.  Throw in the ease of gambling on your phone which is always in your hand, and I see your point x 10.
    • Freeling got some reps at RT when they gave Moton a rest day--I sorta hope Freeling gets brought along slowly as you describe.  It would be better for him for reasons you provide.  We have a really good problem.
