Explaining Carolina's chances to make the playoffs.

we will get to 11 with wins over the Jets and Falcons. that's enough to get in. The N and E divisions can't get two teams to 11, and both the 9ers and Cards can't. So we're in even if we get swept by NO. Of course that would royally suck dog balls, but at least we'll make the playoffs and take another huge step forward towards building the dynasty team.

I do not want to go into ATLANTA on the final game of the year with our playoff hopes riding on that game.

Atlanta will be very fired up to ruin our playoff run.  Absolutely no way I would like to see this come about.

Let's take care of business against NYJ and New Orleans at home so the final game is meaningless.

As I said earlier, EVERYTHING went wrong for the Panthers yesterday. Literally not one team lost that would have helped us out and add on the fact we ended up losing. Infact more WC threats popped up yesterday. Cards, 9ers, Eagles, Cowboys and hell even the Packers are still in this thing.

Im just not confident we will make it in this year. Too many cooks in the NFC kitchen

dude, you're always expecting the worst case scenario. yeah the loss was bad and didn't do us any favors, but the jets in charlotte are not the saints in the super dome

Just have to take care of business, starting Sunday. Hopefully, Ron will find his sack again and we can turn this around. We should totally dominate the Jets. No excuses. And hopefully the guys are stewing in their juices and ready to avenge the embarrassment last Sunday and will exact revenge on the mole. This team is too special to blow it all here at the end where it really counts.

so if Carolina wins and both SF and ARZ lose sunday, carolina clinches a playoffs spot?

More information on that:

CAROLINA can clinch a playoff berth with:

  1. CAR win + ARI loss + SF loss + DAL loss or tie
  2. CAR win + ARI loss + SF loss + PHI loss or tie

Appears that we have the easier schedule for the remaining 3 games... We will be in BofA for 2/3 and both AZ and SF will be on the road for 2/3 remaining games...

The bucs are no push over and that team matches up well to the 49er. Bucs will prob blow it but it could be close. AZ prob has the easiest road of all.

    • Yeah this needs to happen ASAP. I don’t care if the price is lower. These Vikings fans on Twitter are absolutely insufferable. Acting like they have been world beaters for the last 60 years and thinking Carolina should just hand him over for nothing. We’ve had 7 or so tough seasons in a row and we have still been to two superbowls since they have and won more playoff games since 1995.    I hope Dan sends him to Detroit for a 2040 7th rounder and eats half the contract. Even Sheena is replying to them.
    • I hope your cath went well
    • So did the Panthers initiate this by making him "available for the right price" or was this something Thielen himself pushed for? I also never saw this quote he made about JJ McCarthy back in June. https://sports.yahoo.com/article/panthers-adam-thielen-both-asked-182711572.html Thielen believes McCarthy is built for big moments and will eventually show the world the skillset that won the Michigan Wolverines a national championship in 2023/2024. He even said McCarthy could be the “face of the league.” “I have high expectations for him. I've been able to be around a little bit through some of the time last summer... back in Minnesota, and I think he has the ability to be one of the great quarterbacks this season and the face of this league at some point. You know, I think he's got every tool and intangible that you can have,” Thielen said. “Obviously, it's a difficult league and it's not gonna just be easy, but I think he has the ability to handle adversity to be able to be big in big moments, as you saw when he was in college. I think he's got a great support staff around him, whether it be the coaches or the trainers.” Sounds like he's had one foot out the door for some time now.
