A small measure of revenge

So earlier today, a Cowboy fan coworker comes in talking loudly.

He says to anyone within hearing distance "How'd y'all like that game last night?  Looked pretty good to me."  And he smiles as big as he can.

Later on, Monday Night Football starts: Cowboys-Bears...

About the time the score hits 42-14, I walk over to him and say "How do ya like that game, huh?  Looks pretty good to me."

He doesn't look up.  Just half grunts "yeah, yeah..." and I smile as big as I can.

May not be much, but it gave me a good chuckle :D

We have a ways to go fellas. It didn't really hit me until they were talking about our secondary and how we basically have a bunch of undrafted, late round, cut guys back there... And we have top 5 D, AT LEAST.

Give Gettleman some time to iron out our roster and evenly distribute the $$$. Can't wait until we get some actual high end talent in the secondary. Same goes for the offense.

Bottom line we went on an excellent win streak with some GLAIRING holes. We haven't arrived yet...

Why was that idiot chuckling?  Had he already forgotten how badly his 'boys were hammered in that same building just a few weeks ago?  These are no doubt the worst "fans" to deal with - the ones that like to openly bash the home team when their own team is hot garbage.

There's gotta be something about Cowboy, Pats, Steelers, Saints, and even Packer fans to a lesser extent that makes them very easy to loathe.  Can't possibly be their undeserved, insufferable egos...

cowboys fans:  five rangs!  five rangs!  this here's cowboys country, you panthers fans don't know what it's like to root for a real team!  the cowboys have the best fans, best players at every position, and are going all the way this year.  how bout them cowboys!

pats:  three rings!  you all hate brady and pats fans because you're jealous of our success.  i've been rooting for my pats since 2001 through thick and thin, something you panther fans don't know anything about!  love my pats, blue devils, yankees, and heat.

steelers: six rings!  you panthers fans ready to watch derek anderson and all your third stringers lose to the mighty steel curtain in a preseason ass whuppin?  damn, there sure are a lot of steelers fans in this here bank of america stadium.  what an amazing late august evening for football!

saints fans:  everything's been covered

packers fans: truly don't have anything against these guys.

We better draft a CB at 1 and look for an above average free agent for the other CB, worry about WR in 2nd.

I can understand the temptation for a first round CB, I just can't see it being a higher need than TE, OT (possibly OG depending on Amini or Kugbilla) or WR.  Too many needs on offense point to it being the first pick unless the draft just happens to fall our way for a first-round cb...

    • As much as I would love to sit here and bash on Young.  I can't.   He is absolutely a part of this team winning.  He is the cool hand leading the offense along with the hammer, Rico.  He's making plays on 3rd and 4th downs, that are absolutely helping thus team win.  Is Bryce playing as well as we'd like? Nope. Although he had only 1 week off from a high ankle sprain.   No question he was 100% in the Greenbay game.  I'm not even sure where the team would find a clear upgrade over Byrce.  He is a leader.  In the 4th quarter, he has ice in his veins.  He is a part of why our team is enjoyable to watch again.  Without him, we wouldn't be winning.    Anyways.  Y'all enjoy yet another thread designed to tear down the man.
    • Great article on all the Lil Canes attending their debutantes ball. Walt with a great breakdown of all the rookies, as always, and I'm a huge fan of his team coverage, he is truly a treasure, but as a fan of mixed metaphors and superfluous language which some might ignorantly refer to as a "run-on sentence" I never really understood what that mean or where to put the comma after a quote in the middle of a sentence, but holy poo Walt, this is a gem, "While there's a long road left in front of them left to determine whether or not they'll have that same success on the blue line again, the beginning stretch of the journey has been thrown a wrench, and the story on defense has been the emergence of up-and-comers forced into becoming lineup regulars." , bravo, take a bow, sir!
    • How do I activate said Krispy Kreme deal? I'm stoned man you can't be playing with me about this...
