Hardy says he'll take a hometown discount from Panthers

If Hardy is looking for Johnson money it isn't going to happen.  The flat cap for the past several years has depressed big salaries for all but franchise quarterbacks.  He will get a big contract because most big money contracts are cap friendly in years 1 and 2 often escalating big time after that. With the TV contract money finally due to hit in 2015 and beyond, we should be able to pay him and guys like Cam and Kuechly as well.

Whether or not Hardy and Gettleman can agree on what Hardy is worth could be a big question given that Gettleman so far has not been inclined to give out big contracts.  I don't know if we would franchise him given that would cost around 12 million.  Right now his cap number is around 2 million.

When a team flashes the green ,loyalty flies out the window. We can't flash the same green that some other teams can and will (eg. Raiders)......enjoy him for the rest of 2013 cause I can see him leaving when the Brinks truck backs up.

Mac Attack ran with this story all morning. That guy should call his show "hack attack"!  All he does is read the huddle and introduce the topics that are brought up here as his own on WFNZ. He doesn't cite his sources either. He should be breaking new stories since he is media! But he never does, every day he just steals the topics from here. He is a Huddler with a mic. Which is ok but at least credit the O.P!

Guy says he'll take a discount and the first handful of posts are complaints about this or that. You just can't win with some people. Or you can WIN but even that doesn't matter apparently. He was asked a question, he answered it. He's not going to play for free. Give the man his money. We're finally playing winning football and people want to act all tight with the purse now?

Salary Cap is  going up and he is one of the more complete DE who can rush the pass but also stop the run and plays to the Defense scheme where the D-line where most of the pressure comes from.
