Was the bad snap really a mistake?

Wouldn't it have been easier to just throw dump off passes in the middle of the field and let the clock run out? Running a play that makes you look incompetent isn't ever a good idea.

Throwing dump off passes whenever you need to stretch the field shows you are incompetent. A bad snap looks like a fluke of sorts.

Snelling laying on the ball forever was kind if weird.

I think he hurt his ankle or something and was a bit shaken up, which in turn made it unable for them to get into a proper formation for a spike.

Honestly I wouldn't be too surprised if the Falcons gave us the game.  The whole NFC South probably despises the Saints.  Something fishy goes on inside that dome, the bounty scandal, their arrogant twat of a coach...

Rivera probably promised Mike Smith that we wouldn't let the Saints get through Carolina to a superbowl.

I doubt they risked their starters that long just to decide they were gonna tank the last minute. I mean, it's possible Blank gave the word to do so, but I doubt it. When the snap came off Ryan was trying to audible to his receivers and you could see he didn't expect it to come out when it did.

Now, how they handled the next two or three plays after that was where I have questions.

Listen, if they wanted to throw the game they didn't need an elaborate conspiracy. We had sacked Ryan 9 times today. If he wanted to hold the ball an extra few seconds and take the 10th then nobody would have thought that was strange at all. You don't do something THAT stupid just to throw a ballgame.
