What is the status of Jonathan Stewart?

I haven't heard much about him latley. Will he be back for our playoff game? I know he hasn't done much this year but having him and Tolbert on the field at the same time may help open up the screen game. That is if Shula actually calls some RB screens.

I'd like to see him and Smitty back because any extra offensive weapons will be more than welcome.

Practicing for the Tour De France....I do agree we need to call more screens because Deangelo keeps breaking them for big gains and we need big plays wherever we can get them

Didn't Williams have a 50 yard screen (with a fumble)?

I am assuming Stewart is out for the year

Yes which is why I am hoping for more RB screens as it was probably our most effective offensive play. History has shown Stewart and Tolbert are our two best receivers out of the backfield.

I want this team to be 100% Healthy in 2 weeks.

He's listening to his body, shhhh. He may not be able to hear it with all this chatter of "healthy". In all seriousness, we need him. I don't care what anyone says but Stew and Dwill both being healthy make us a better team. There are several tackles Stew would run through that Dwill can't and there are several draw type plays we use Tolbert for that Stew could run.

Hopefully Stew returns so we can use him on those inside runs to set Tolbert up on some FB screens. That element of surprise from a true FB position cannot be understated.

Dwill is averaging 12.8 ypc... He's been pretty good out of the backfield.  This year, anyway, Dwill has been more effective as a receiving option out of the backfield.  he's been really good on screens.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
