Munnerlyn Wants long term deal

I think he deserves one, but it'll come down to the details. We can't spend a ton to keep him, but we also have to consider that if he leaves we'll have to sign someone else to take his spot and how much that will cost. I doubt we go CB in the draft before the 3rd round, if then, so I'd certainly like to keep Captain.

I'm not so sure about that. I believe our top three needs are OL/WR/CB. If there is a corner that fits our zone scheme and is staring us in the face early in the draft, I think Gettleman pulls the trigger. Munnerlyn may not be back, and Florence is old and at the end of his career.

Capt has been playing out of position. He is a great NB and should be paid as such.

I suspect we'll draft at least one CB in the draft, two tops. Still plenty of room for Capt to remain on the team, especially with how much we run nickel in this defense.

    • Man, I havent posted in a while, happy to see the forum is alive and well!  Really excited about this upcoming season, and this draft class!  Lee Hunter will be an instant fan favorite, i might go ahead and purchase his jersey.  Will be interesting to see what we do at Receiver, a lot of talent and a lot of bodies, does XL get traded, or do they give him a shot this season to see what he has?
    • Goings was good too.
    • I appreciate TMo, he has been a rock. Plug and play, set and forget. But there are stories that they ice his knees or knee in game when he goes to the sidelines. If it is that bad that is pretty rough and it probably won’t get better with age and more wear.     You want to pay him, and commit that money, I shouldn’t object. But let’s at least roll him over a year at a time.  He isn’t a particularly good long term gamble.
