The Browns continue to be a dumpster fire (Banner and Lombardi fired)

Perusing PFT and saw the headline about Haslam being impatient.  Thought "wonder what that's about" but didn't read.

Scrolled down a little and saw something about Ray Farmer as GM, and went "huh"?

Kept scrolling till I saw the story about Lombardi and Banner being fired and said "you've gotta be freakin' kidding me"

Free agency is a month away, a month (a short month at that since it's February).  Heck, the Scouting Combine starts in less than two weeks.

Just hired a new coach.  Heck, I don't even know if they've filled out the whole coaching staff yet.

Good grief, what an utter mess.

Congrats, to Ray Farmer though. My high school teammate and long time friend.  We won baseball state championships in Little League, American American Legion, high school (Glenn High School,1992) and played football together from the time we were 12 through high school.  Great guy, smart as hell and seems to be well respected as a talent evaluator in the NFL.

Now don't let the dumpster fire that is the Browns consume you too!

This pic is of me and Ray on the field prior to the Chiefs v. Panthers game back in 2008 when he was Director Pro Personnel for the Chiefs (We won 34-0)

No matter how bad your team has it, someone always has it worse (unless your a Browns fan).

Saw a t-shirt once that summed it all up:

"Cleveland Browns... Rebuilding since 1963".

My manager is a Browns fan.  The contact icon I use for him on my phone is a Browns fan holding a sign that says that.

I took the day off today to get some stuff done.  Part of me wishes I hadn't

Best story is about the fan who wanted Browns players to be his pallbearers so they "could let me down one more time".

The problem with the Browns franchise is they are too impatient. Whether Chud was the right fit or not, they fired him after one season. That is not giving anyone a chance. I believe they have some bright spots on their roster but management needs to to stick with one coach, gm, etc for a few years and see if they can build a winner. Rome wasn't built in a day.

I guess the only good news is that Farmer was already the assistant GM, so it's not like they're bringing in a total outsider... but the timing is still terrible.

Yep.  The timing is absolutely awful.

Now Ray Farmer (who, by all accounts is a good football guy) gets to be the one who calls free agents to say "Hey man, how'd you like to sign a contract with an organization that fired it's head coach and GM after just one year?  Oh, and also dumped their team president of 18 months on the same day?"

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
