Brandin Cooks relishes Smitty Comparisons.

"I know a lot about Steve Smith. That's one of the guys I actually model my game after," said Cooks, who is training in San Diego for the combine.

 

Cooks said the Smith comparisons go beyond size.

 

"He's not scared to do anything," Cooks said. "He's not scared to go over the middle. ... That's how I like to see myself, too -- a fearless receiver who's not afraid to do those things."

 

 

I like this kid. He's not the average jock. I can tell you that from listening to a few interviews. He's a cerebral player.

As much as I would hate to miss out on a guy that could be a playmaker like Smitty his measurables are just a turnoff. We need big targets for cam not little ones.

He's to small! We need our version of AJ Green or Megatron, he's a complimentary second receiver in the draft if he ever fell down the lists but I'm locked in in a 6'3 minimum receiver for cam to throw high too.

If he has good measureables at the combine and his pro day as well as good interviews I wouldn't be mad if he was the 28th pick

Brandon Coleman, Martavis Bryant, Devin Street and Cody Latimer.

If he runs in the 4.3s in the combine we will definitely consider him if he is still available at 28. He doesn't look to have 4.3 speed to me though...could be wrong about that but I guess we will find out. He isn't as explosive as Tavon Austin in the open field but I think he possesses the superior receiving ability. He seems to highpoint the ball well and is good after the catch.

 

If he raises his stock at the combine I wouldn't be opposed to him although I would prefer a larger target. Cooks has the production and could put on a show at the combine and thus be one of the best players available at 28.

getting a big ass tall ass flanker will let steve excel in the slot and play for a few more years. when he retires, then fine, go after a brandin cooks.

 

right now we don't need him.

As someone else has said on this thread we have our slot guy so no thanks to him however talented he may be, we need a legit #1 receiver so why would we take a number #2 at best? It makes no sense going forward.

You know, I like this kid a lot and have tried to get away from this type of thinking...  Unfortunately, I cant.  Agree with  this 100% but wish him well.
