Is it just me, or do most of the FA this year other's overpriced trash

For one, there are no QBs, so teams that need one will reach and overpay. The receivers we talk about are nothing special, but b/c they've been on Sportscenter or fantasy teams, their asking price will be high (Eric Decker for instance). The same can be said for corners, as a lot of names stick out that were good 4-5 years ago, but there's a reason they were cut or not re-signed, b/c they're asking too much. A lot of people might have to eat their position shortages next year and work with what they got and depend on the draft (worked for us).

Honestly, that's a lot of years.

Most teams tend to lock up the best guys before free agency starts if they can.  What's left over is sometimes half-decent, but some idiot team always overpays early.

The smart teams are the ones who sit back, wait for the market to even out, and bargain shop.  The ones who go for the big splash make big offseason headlines and get fans thumping their chests, then they disappear when the actual season starts.

Like us for almost our entire existence. Your philosophy is flawed. The key is just being smart regardless of what you do.

It hasn't been the philosophy that was flawed. It's been the execution.

Gettleman may have taken a similar approach to free agency as Hurney in the timing aspect, but it's clear he knew what he was doing in a way that Hurney never did.

It's the difference between a scout and a sportswriter making the decisions.

It's sort of my point. It's more about the GM than sticking with a certain philosophy. If you have a GM that knows what he's doing, he can sit back and wait or go ahead and get the guys he needs. If you have a GM that doesn't know what he's doing, you have guys like Hurney that sit back and wait but hurt your team. And guys like Snyder than sign everyone regardless and still suck. You can go ahead and sign early as long as you sign the right guys. You don't have to sit back and wait while guys that can help your team get picked up just so you can pride yourself in sticking with your philosophy like Hurney did.

    • They are 1 and 9 against the  Bucs in the past 10 games. the Panthers go as young goes.  QB1 ‘s are suppose to dictate and overcome  and elevate Everything the QB does affects every part of the team and Bryce is uneven. Canales and Bryce have  an uneven relationship too  as for Evero, the only thing that might save him is the injury to Baker’s left shoulder and oline injuries. I don’t even know how he is out there   I really feel their season ended last Sunday Canales’ division record isn’t great   Getting owned by the Saints and Bucs isn’t a good look
    • Frankly surprised by the amount of people that want to hang Evero. This was a defense that was almost universally considered the bottom of the barrel before this season started. We’ve managed to stat our way to the middle of the pack whatever that means. Those critical of the zone schemes, what do you want? When even JC is getting burnt one on one by Olave you have little choice. There definitely have been moments where the zone blitz stuff has bit us. That said, are the third string linebackers (and nick Scott) covering poo anyway? This unit had only conceded 10 points going into the fourth quarter despite a litany of bullshit penalties on both sides. Them over performing is the biggest reason we are still in playoff contention.
