@SigmundBloom Kelvin Benjamin will be younger on draft day than Roddy White and Javon Walker were when they were drafted. Not really bothered by his age.

@SigmundBloomAnother player in the Kelvin

Benjamin mold (ie tolerate drops/lapses because big plays) is Demaryius Thomas

I love the comparison because it signifies exactly the risk reward package you get with kb. I think this is his ceiling imo.

The Combine, pro days, team workouts, and ultimately if he's there at 28 and we pick him will tell the story..for us in reference to our guys anyway.

If the pros really believe that he can be on the level of Thomas, then he may be gone. Of course if you have some other guys that put you in the mind of other players, then there's that dynamic as well (e.g., Brandin Cooks and Smitty).  Sure there is only one 89, but if people believe that Brandin Cooks can be anywhere in the vicinity of a young 89, then the decisions get a bit tougher.

Lastly, I don't believe that Benjamin has the speed of DT, which kind of throws a monkey wrench in the comparison.

I read the comparison and I don't see it. If Benjamin is anybody, he's Roddy White. Putting up with dropped passes and mental lapses for explosive plays is something Mike Wallace and Dez Bryant are known for too.

Not really Dez, maybe early in his career. But at this point he doesn't really drop passes or have mental lapses.

I think we really need a big play receiver and a good redzone target. Benjamin is the best available, and if he's there at 28 I say we gotta take him.

    • Mel Kiper said he would retire if Jimmy Clausen wasn't a successful NFL starter too. Just because the experts make a claim doesnt mean it's true either.  Bryce may be a serviceable QB for someone. Serviceable QBs don't bring you a perennial winner or lead you to the playoffs over and over. Serviceable QBs also dont get 50m plus per year deals which is what a Bryce extension would look like.  The stats show he hasn't been even a serviceable QB in the 3 years he's been here. The eye test shows he hasn't put together 2 franchise QB salary games back to back in 3 years.  Complain all you want about people being negative, but people pointing out that Bryce is held to a different standard than anyone else on the team isn't complaining. It's stating the obvious.
    • We have big bodied WRs and 3 TEs who all have potential and each bring something different to the table. I never saw the need to go out there and try and find a new starting TE.  While it's nice to have a guy like McBride, Bowers, etc, I think a team's better use of the cap is by having TEs on rookie contracts or cheap vets, not having to pay elite TE money.
    • He had the award until like the last 8 games. He sucked ass and flagg had 3 40 point games
