Nawrocki hates everybody

You either did not watch much college football or you did not understand what you were watching. He was not even close to as consistent. Made bigger highlight plays - yes, in every game. But made just about as made wtf plays if you watch more than just the highlights they show on ESPN.

Manziel has a higher career QB rating, completion percentage, yards per attempt, and team winning percentage in the toughest conference in college football than Russell Wilson in lesser conferences.

So the real question is: What the hell were YOU looking at.

Oh, I think Manziel is a fine college quarterback.  Don't see him being great in the pros.

I guess Greg Cosell - and any other draft analyst who questions his play - must have ulterior motives too, right?

Well if Greg Cosell says he has no consistency, you better sit up and listen!

"He (Cam Newton) does not throw the ball with consistency. There's very little refinement to his game. He's just a big man with a strong arm," Cosell said on this week's FantasyGuru.com Podcast..

"You know, every once in a while, he teases with his arm talent, but there's no consistency to his play," Cosell said. "And there's two things that you need ... No. 1, he's very erratic with his accuracy and, No. 2, he does not see the field well. And it's really hard to be a quality NFL quarterback when you're lacking those two things

I was watching the games.  Not reading the stats after them.

I'm sure Nolan Nawrocki will be able to rest easy tonight knowing that stirs is here to protect his good name.

Him, and the rest of his ilk can take a long walk off a short cliff.

It seems that every day here is "your time of the month"

I just know that Nawrocki rags on people every year, Cam was also the target of one of his rants.  I did not say I supported anything he did, but just listed a couple of his rants because it was "that time of year" when he comes out with his articles.  Kinda like Mayock coming out with his top 5.

You could use a dose of maturity.  Quit showing your azz as your first impression with every thread.  Sheeesh!

Mr Scot wanted the whole list, so here it is.

Many here at the time practically treated his terrible piece on Cam Newton as gospel. Don't pretend to have amnesia now.

No amnesia, that is why I posted it, saying that he doesn't like anybody.  He rags on people every year and is wrong a lot.

What in that makes you think I have his back?

Get the enormous Cam Newton protector chip off your shoulder, Cam can handle himself.  You might even be able to fit into a message board community and talk, I don't know, FOOTBALL.

Johnny Football will always be hated by the subset of college football fans that want their QB's to pretend to be humble and love Jesus while they beat their girlfriends and date rape half the campus. I can't wait for him to make even more enemies in the NFL.

Somebody tell me what he's done wrong other than be honest? People act like he's the only college football player living his weekends at the bar.

If my team picked him, my fear would be is his focus on becoming the best he can be (a la Cam) or will he focus on having fun and making the most of his time as a celebrity.  He's saying his focus is on football, but he has really lived it up as a high profile college QB.  For some reason when I think of Manziel, I think of Babe Ruth, he was so naturally good that he could go out partying all night before a game then go hit 3 home runs while still drunk/hung over.

Point is, times are different, athletes are so much better and more prepared that if you aren't ready to give 100%, you're going to have a tough time.  And as the assumed leader of a team, can he prove to a group of vets that they should follow him.

I think Manziel is a jerk, but that's not why I wouldn't draft him.

I don't think he'll succeed at the NFL level based on his football skills.

He's exactly the kind of college QB I've seen plenty of times look great at the college level but fail in the pros.

I don't think we can use that gauge anymore.  The mold of a modern QB has been broken and a new one is still being forged.  I think a lot of failed athletic QB's in past years would have success today.  Heck, even guys like Randall Cunningham who had some success would probably be considered either elite or near elite in today's NFL.  They wouldn't just be labeled a running QB and have morons like Buddy Ryan force them into that role, they would be allowed to develop their passing skills as well.

As for Manziel, I have seen enough of him to show me that he CAN be a good NFL QB, but he's also showed enough inconsistency that I would have to be extremely sold on his willingness to put in the work before I would hand him the keys to my organization.

You'll have to pardon me if I take the opinion of a guy who evaluates players for NFL Films more seriously than I take yours.

And consistency actually is a weakness of Newton's, as has been discussed here numerous times.

Like Brett Favre, he'll make his fair share of both "oh wow" and 'oh no" plays, just as most gunslinger types do.  The idea is to have more of the former and less of the latter (something Newton is doing fairly well at these days).
