Is Nick Foles the best of the "New Breed", "Dual Threat" QB'S ?

He thrived in Chip Jelly's Zone Read, run first offense last season.

The Eagles were number 1 in the entire NFL in rushing offense by a large margin.

They averaged a remarkable 5.1 yards per rushing attempt, number 1 in the NFL.

Foles was number 1 in the NFL in passer rating, surpassing even Peyton Manning.

In addition, the Eagles, though they led the NFL in rushing, were also # 9 in the NFL in passing offense.

None of the other "Young Guns", "New Breed", "Dual Threat" QB's came close to putting up those type of numbers, especially the combination of rushing and passing success.

The closest was BOB 3, who paced the Redskins to a 16th finish in NFL passing offense.

One has to wonder what Foles would have accomplished had the Eagles not finished 29th in NFL Total Defense.

After all, the only teams that made the NFC playoffs last year that did not finish in the top 5 in NFL in total defense were the Packers and Eagles.

Easy answer. N O spells NO.

Glad to hear you are satisfied when your QB tops out at 16th in NFL passer rating along with 29th in team passing offense.

That and his 500 or so rushing yards practically carried the NFL's 2nd ranked defense to the playoffs.

So you would rather have Foles than Cam?! Seriously? Wow.

LOL...just killing some time in the hospital waiting room. My son broke his arm slapping me for saying Nick Foles is the best of the "New Breed", "Dual Threat" QB.

Don't worry, I won't make it a habit.

Fixed it for you.

Did you actually watch an Eagles game last year? Just wondering... because anybody who did and has any common sense could tell you the gaudy rushing, etc. stats came from Chip Kelly's retardedly fast-paced offense (to Foles credit he did play excellent, but McCoy was just a straight beast this year. Extremely fun back to watch). By going at such a fast pace you get way more opportunities to rack up stats. Much like how our own slow, methodical, ball control grind out the clock offense limited opportunities for stats. Hell, Cams rookie year weren't we like 1st or 2nd in rushing while 10th-12th in passing (except Cam was actually a HUGE part of the running game unlike Foles)? We had like 20 injuries and our defense and special teams were complete ass that year though. Why not bring that up, hmm? Remember how we didn't have that many offensive possessions per game last year? Yeah, well that also helped our defense's numbers out a ton while the offensive stats suffered. It was somewhat of a symbiotic relationship. TL;DR: No, Nick Foles isn't the best. Chip Kelly's system provides a lot of opportunities for offensive stats.
