Value is what you want at 28.

Cooks is more ready than Benjamin but Benjaimin has higher ceiling. If he gets there is another story.

Is Moses a guy we have with a 45-50 value like others say?  If so, pass?

Pryer might or might not be there, but would most likely be your best value pick.  I would catagorize their worth as follows.

Player      Value

Pryor        15-25

Cooks       20-35

Verrett       25-40

Benjamin  30-45

Moses      35-50

I picked Cooks by the way

To me, I would draft anybody on defense in the 1st. So it would have to be either a WR or OT. There are still better sign FA OT's out there now so I'm going WR. Between Cook and Benjamin, I'm going Benjamin. Why? Because Cook has been compared to Smith so much unless he himself becomes a HOFer he will always be in Smith's shadow and anything he does will never be enough.

Give me that big body in the endzone. Give me Benjamin.

If one of the big three OTs was somehow there at 28 I'd take him in a heartbeat. Since that probably won't happen I'd take Benjamin. I wouldn't be mad about Cooks, but even though he's supposedly "more pro ready" Cooks looks very comparable to Tavon Austin from last year (except Cooks is a little less explosive). Cooks doesn't look significantly "more pro ready" than Austin did and we need much more than comparable to what Austin did this past year. At the very least Benjamin would give us someone that could fight for jump balls. We can (hopefully) sign Cotchery to be the possession guy to catch underneath stuff.

I'd also take Matthews at #28 if he's available, and I'd probably take him ahead of Benjamin or Cooks. Quite possibly OBJ too.

Benjamin reminds me of Stephen Hill from a few years ago. Physical specimen but very limited in his route running in college. A first seems a bit much for a guy that needs quite a lot of work to be able to run a full route tree.

Stephen hill had Sanchez throwing to him in the jets offense. Worlds different

    • I don't really care as much about athleticism and arm strength.  While Murray might be better in that regard, I think Bryce has enough of both to do well in the NFL. The main reason this trade reference is silly is the money and the fact that Murray has been around a long while and hasn't proven that he can perform consistently when the game is on the line.  Bryce has shown that he can play well in the clutch (in the few opportunities he has had).
    • If Bryce can continue the level of play he showed after the benching, then there's a good shot we at least compete to win the division. Tampa is a solid team but even last year in our week division they went 10-7 and will be on their 4th OC in as many years. The Saints are a mess and are in a mist of a half rebuild half still trying to compete mode and will probably be starting a rookie QB. The Falcons are a wild card as they have a really good offense but are we really crowning Michael Penix as a franchise QB after just 3 games?  The only thing I want out of this season is for Bryce to come out and without a shadow of a doubt prove he's our franchise QB. If that happens then most of the fanbase would be happy and I believe we'd be in a good place record wise at the end of the season. Maybe falling just short of winning the division with a chance to sneak in as a wild card team.
