Panthers interested in Antoine Cason (edit)

CB is one of the depleted areas of the team and anytime we can fill a hole with a good athlete is fine by me. The more athletic the better. 4.45 forty, 20-reps back in '08. Captain was 4.5 and 19...not to mention Cason has 4 inches in height on CM. clearly more athletic based upon raw measurables alone. Nickle back for sure. Great replacement and upgrade for Captain

I like the fact that he played well with Rivera.  I've only heard his name, not really followed.  I think if a guy is talented, but had a kind of down year, coming to a place like Carolina with a great front 7 where you can improve your value is a great idea.  Hopefully he signs, and can play well for us.

Nickel? I doubt it.

everyone, including Voth,  is reporting this off the same tweet from the cardinals beat writer.  While he may be dependable it is not a done deal.  The original tweet from AZ was "hearing" Cason will sign with Panthers

Voth has been 100% correct about everything he has reported this offseason. Cason will sign.

per rotoworld

The ex-Charger played only 169 defensive snaps for the Cardinals last season, struggling in coverage. He's still only 27, however, and just one year removed from being a 16-game starter. Cason would be a sensible, cheap flier for a team with a beastly front seven that takes pressure off its secondary

Sensible and Cheap?  Sounds like a pair of shoes from Wal Mart
