Carolina Panthers Sign Tiquan Underwood

Doubt it, there are about 3 guys worth taking in the first round that wont drop that far. And star didn't need to drop that far for us to get him we are not picking 14 anymore.

Yeh Robinson Matthews Lewan should all be gone by #15 then leaves the next tier of prospects Morgan Moses, Zack Martin, and the two risky guys Antonio Richardson & Cyrus Koumandijo, all are projected late first round-early second round graded players! I don't see we reach if a BPA WR or TE or even DB is there at #28, you have guys in the second-third round who aren't massive drop offs from those guys, James Hurst, Juwan James, Billy Turner, Jack Mewhort, Joel Bitonio.

The draft is deep no need at all to reach, the Hurney days are over....

I hate how most fans can only see a player based on what he's done in the past and not what his skillset brings and abilities may have the potential to do in the future.

I like the skillset and a tall, fast receiver is going to give Cam some good options deep.

it's kind of frustrating, but then just remember they most likely carry this lack of vision into all areas of their life..  which just makes it sad.

Well.. fall being relative to our pick.  Say a top 15 guy falls rather than top 5.

Because most of the time, what a player has done in the past is an indication of what he will do in the future.  There are exceptions of course, but for the most part its true.

Not that I am against the signing, especially since we aren't spending a lot.

The only thing he doesn't offer that Ginn does is return ability (which we now lack since captain and ted are both gone). Otherwise, in very happy about the signing. I think he will be the #3 receiver on the team immediately.

We will see. It's from a 2012 report, but I assume he's not going to have too great of an impact because he didn't stick.

Of course The Texans cut Holliday and Frisco let Ginn walk. The only season Underwood was used in earnest on KRs is in 2010 with JAX.

But special teams is something we shouldn't rule out with Underwood. He's shown some ability to return kickoffs, in particular. In 2010 in Jacksonville (he was a 2009 seventh-round pick of the Jags), Underwood averaged 23.4 yards per attempt on kick returns.

This is an area where he could potentially make an impact here in Tampa Bay because there appears to be opportunity. The Bucs couldn't find consistency in their return game last season because Sammie Stroughter struggled to stay healthy and Preston Parker mishandled too many kicks.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
