This is a pretty decent team

I know the East is a pretty poor conference but I gotta say, this season doesn't appear to be a fluky one for us.

  • Kemba Walker and Al Jefferson have really stepped up to make this a formidable squad. You can just see it in the way Kemba plays..he's really brought his game this year and Big Al is just a dominant force.
  • The team has strong role players. Particularly in Hendo. A Good 6th man to have in a lineup.
  • And a very important point: I think we found a coach to have for a bit in Clifford

If they can just hit the mark on a draft for once, we could have a very solid Charlotte Hornets next season with 4-5 seed potential.  There was a mini slide recently but our wins this past month or so have really given me confidence in this team.  I like what is forming and it's sweet to have good basketball back in the QC.

My 2 cents.

There isn't an electrifying young star like Larry Johnson or Baron Davis, but this team is very fun to watch as a whole. Kemba is pretty exciting and is a very good player but I don't think he has the high ceiling those guys had. Big Al isn't flashy but he is a flat out monster. He is big time and elite. Other than LeBron & Durant there isn't any other player leaps & bounds better than Big Al. Clifford is a good coach and has them playing great team basketball.

I agree.  Detroit needs to just keep losing and we can definitely get someone good in the draft.

I too like where this team is headed.  If all things continue trending the way they have been, the official "Bobcats" may get a playoff victory or two before the name is retired into NBA history forever.  I have often wondered how long it will take for the nation to forget there ever was a Bobcats.  Looking back, it will be like the Hornets started here in the 80's and never left. lol

Kemba and Big Al are 2 players we can build around for sure. I'm excited about the Charlotte Hornets 2.0 !!

Sign Heyward and if the Pistons pick is #9 and we get the rights to it we can draft a very solid player or even use our other pick to trade up for one of the top picks.

Just feel this team's in a lot better shape now than a year ago, I have faith Cho and Co. know how to put together a winning program.

Hell, even Cody Zeller has turned a corner and could end up being a very reliable player.

    • So answer the question. Why did Chark and Hurst have the same metrics (go look them up, I did... and one was actually worse in LA) with Justin Herbert? Why did Mingo have the same metrics with Dak? You're right, there is a common denominator, just not the one you're trying to make.  Why could DJ Moore get open with Bridgewater, Allen, Cam 2.0, Darnold, Baker, Williams, Bagent? I'll answer the question for you - because he is a good WR unlike Chark/Hurst/Mingo.
    • I mean I just don't understand the argument. Baker and Sam both have been pro bowl QBs post their time here. And you just said yourself that is due to him having a damn good roster around him and they are well coached. You're even saying the bad baker is still there somewhere, but he is in a good organization with good roster and coaching that they are getting the best out of him. Why does Baker and Sam get all that benefit of the doubt but when it comes to Bryce it must be a BY9 problem, not an org or team problem?  Hell I got a guy below you arguing with me that Chark/Hurst/Mingo sucked because Bryce wouldn't throw them open. It's ridiculous how far the stretch goes.
    • Correct.  It’s really hard to get open in the NFL when opposing defenses gameplan and cheat coverage/routes on all your players because they know your QB can’t make certain throws/plays.   magically no one that comes to Carolina can get open or make plays with the ball in their hands…..it’s like there is one singular common dominator to it all.  BY makes playing defense way too easy.   NFL players are too good to allow one side to cheat coverage and not respect all the potential threats of a route  so you can dial up a great play.  But if corners and safeties just cheat coverage and know X and Y happening on route/threats….getting open gets hard when they just play it one way.  Getting open has a lot to do with the different threats a WR can pose on a given play.
