Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Johnson’s Calabasas residence around 12:48 a.m. regarding a possible spousal assault call, officials said.

“When deputies arrived, it was determined that the resident and his ex-girlfriend were involved in a domestic dispute,” the LASD said.

Johnson was arrested at the scene and booked at the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station.  He posted a $20,000 bond at 9:15 a.m. and was released from custody.

Have never understood how you let it get that far.

Ask the person to leave your home, if they won't, call the police.  If they "live" there, you leave, either by taxi, car, or walking.

Don't raise your hand, and try to get said person as far from you as possible.

Charlie Murphy once said that anytime arguments started escalating to that point he would run and lock himself in a bathroom.  He would then call the police and refuse to come out until they got there.  Thats the only way he could prove he wasn't the aggressor.

Don't know any of the details of the story here.  Will say this in general...

A guy who hits or abuses a woman doesn't deserve to be called "a man".

You can't generalize.  I used to work with a couple when I was a kid on a farm.  The husbands loving wife out weighed him by about 50 pounds,  and it was mostly muscle.    He would regularly get drunk on Friday or Saturday night and would show up to work on Monday morning with shiners, cuts, and bruises where his wife beat the piss out of him.  She would be of course unscathed.

It was spousal abuse all right.  But no one seemed to care because it was a guy on the receiving end.

I hate woman beaters as much as the next guy. But I also hate how people jump to conclusions (especially people like the media who have the power to shape the opinions of the average unthinking, research averse American idiot). Wait for the facts to come out. You don't think women know how the public views men who are even accused of hitting women? Until you've experienced a true jezebel who manipulates as easily as she breathes don't be so quick to judge. If he hit her fug him. But at least wait until the facts come out. I saw a woman 3 weeks ago drag a man out of his car and whup his ass.  He kept his hands up talking about how he won't hit a woman.  Apparently that gave her carte blance to not only whup his ass, but to talk sh.. while doing it.

Say what you want... Man woman, child, etc.. some people deserve to catch a blow.  Not a beat down, not physically abusing a woman to get her to do what you want.  No jealous rages, etc etc. but there are exceptions....

    • Neither Barkley nor even a healthy CMC would move the needle much for us. Those are guys that impact teams that already have impressive overall offenses and defenses, so they can perform the complimentary roles that make them actually valuable. We should know that specifically because CMC almost never moved the needle on bad Panthers team after bad Panthers team. Ask Giants fans about that with Saquon.
    • I would generally disagree. You see a lot more load management than previously but that is because being healthy in the playoffs is such a key factor. Different philosophies in that regard than previous generations.  Baseball really doesn't matter until at least halfway through the season. I am not gonna say they don't play hard but the physical demands are infinitesimal in the MLB in comparison to basically any other major pro sport.  People dislike all the shooting these days but that's a direct correlation with how much the overall skill level of the average NBA player has drastically risen over the past 15ish years. There are other aggravating factors, certainly, but that is the biggest one in terms of playing style differences. So many of the guys from the 80's and 90's wouldn't even be able to play in the modern NBA at all. The biggest problem the NBA has with the American market(they are the only US sport that has any real international appeal or interest, minus the NHL) is that they are so steadily corrupt and fix the systems against the small market teams. Well, you eventually lose a big chunk of the league viewership/potential viewership in the process. Take the very obviously fixed NBA draft lotteries. Superstar and upper tier star players rarely want to play for small market teams, nor can they usually afford to pay them. So how do you expect them to possibly compete in that environment?
