You apparently don't realize unused cap space rolls over to the next season. So yeah, this year's cap numbers affects next year's cap space. I could care less how much cash Moton got from Tepper, I care about how much cap he's taking up.
-
I wish, but I don’t think we can do that. Tepper has a terrible reputation of firing too fast, which means the best candidates stay away from us. That’s how we ended up with Dave and Dan. Unfortunately, we need to let those guys play out three full seasons at least before we hit the market again.
-
It's not that Tepper is meddling....it's that post Rhule he has been just expecting random pieces to just work out. The people don't fit together at key/pivotal spots. Rhule era was incompetence at the helm. Frank era was a bunch of random people. Then the player talent didn't match what the coaches would be doing. The Canales era is basically a repeat of the Frank era. Player talent doesn't align w/ what the coaches are doing. We are trying to run a 3-4 D without the fundamental players for a 3-4 D. The coach and staff are thrust upon the HC. On O, we hired a HC that runs an old school O and the key piece is a traditional downfield gunslinger to make that old approach work. Bryce isn't a QB that can make it work. He doesn't have the arm. What he does throw downfield is whack. Easiest fix right now is removing Bryce, Evero and probably Dan Morgan
-
Yes actually
-
This stood out so much more yesterday, against the fuging jaguars of all people. I still remember one of the talking points for drafting him over Stroud was his ability to handle pressure. That video of Cam critiquing Youngs fear of getting in the pocket only continues to age well.
-
Canales is fuggin terrible. Soft ass coach. Probably gave every player a blue ribbon after the game.
-
Remember when he was brought in, and folks were so concerned that he might only be here a year before some team snapped him up for a HC job, because he was just going to be that awesome? Meanwhile..
-
I've seen this thread before lol. I feel like a slow start isn't getting absolutely dominated and not even looking like an NFL team. It's probably time to replace Morgan. I never liked that we kept someone that worked so close with Fitt anyway. And Canales, I guess what did we expect he's the only coach we could get that probably wanted to be here. Was always a roll of the dice. I suspect he's great in a job interview.

SCO96 started following Bryce at post game press conference
-
You have a point. I don't think he's the answer. But, we can all agree that He looked a bit different on the field when he returned from his benching. People tend to wake up and strive to get better when they are in danger of the losing their job. Back in the 1970-1971 the Cowboys went to back to back SB's with 2 different starters (Craig Morton/Roger Staubach). That was one of the most intense competitions in history. Staubach missed almost all of the 1972 season and Dallas still made the 1972 NFC title game. Montana got better when Walsh brought in Steve Young Favre had some excellent seasons after Aaron Rodgers was drafted. Phil Simms got hurt in 1990, and their back up QB Jeff Hostler beat the 49ers who were going for 3peat on the way to a SB win over Buffalo. You need to have a guy who can at least push the starter so he doesn't become complacent, especially when he isn't elite.
-
WRs were open all game, Young is a deer in headlights once game action starts. Morgan is probably working on a contract extension as we speak.
-
I'm tired of his pansy defenses. 10 yards off the line every down, Cover 3 every down, no blitzing, no aggressiveness. And worst of all, if you don't fit the scheme (Jeremy Chinn, Frankie Luvu) you get booted rather than the scheme adjusting. Evero is so confident in this garbage scheme that has been the worst or second-worst defense in the league two years running. It's embarrasing.
-
Saleh was never gonna come here. We aren't that enticing of a franchise to come to, hence why we hired a coach who only had 1 year of playcalling under his belt.
-
Sorry, dude, but that's just stupid. Just because a person talks with a southern drawl doesn't mean they aren't intelligent. I'd also add that standard English isn't a barometer of a person's cognitive ability. Actually, being able to adapt to different settings speaks toward a certain amount and/or aspect of intelligence. I bristle when someone begins to go down the road that you're suggesting.
-
yeah atp i think its hard to argue against this
-
All things considered, he is pretty close
-
Bryce doesn't realize getting mad on the sidelines or sulking in the press conference just makes you look soft
-
The Jags have such an impressive oline too lol
-
he may not be the worst in history but as of right now he is the worst starting QB in the NFL.
-
I don't know what's worse his coaching or what he built. His guys are maximum suck and I don't think they can clear all the contracts to duds in one offseason. He has proven to be way overhyped and everyone that let him come back after last year should be axed this offseason...or sooner is fine too.
-
That doesn't really excuse 0 sacks and not much pressure overall
-
Its hard for me to know where the offense truly stands. Bryce is such a bad fit for it and limits everything. There are plays with schemed open receivers sometimes that are just missed. There are some bone head calls too of course.
-
someone in the game thread yesterday said he was the worst qb in NFL history man lmao
-
Cam was notoriously set in his ways, too. I would be surprised if he put in 10% of the work to improve his mechanics and ownership of the game. Josh manages to get to the line with 20 seconds on the play clock. Josh knows how to set-up the defense. Josh can throw on a rope 65 yards downfield in year 8. There really is no comparison to be made between Cam and Josh anymore. It's sad to me but it's true. Josh is what Cam could have been had he put in the same amount of work, which I'm fairly confident he didn't.

You are going to get poo'd for mentioning tmac but im going to agree to an extent. He definitely had flashes and looked promising, but he has got to get more crisp and urgent on his routes. It is also a little worrisome how he seems to want to 1 hand catches when he doesnt need to. The td attempt was in a location he could have used 2 hands to grab it but instead just used one. All that said, it was the best looking game 1 rookie wr Ive ever seen on the panthers and he may end up being a really good player.
