Been a year that I didnt expect, but holy crap these two teams offenses are not even playing the same sport that we are. 49ers are going to put up like 600 yards of offense. Winning team may need to put up 50.

CRA started following 2024 vs 2025
-
Offense 2024 298 yards per game (pass 187), 20.1 points per game 2025 296 yards per game (pass 173), 18.6 points per game Defense 2024 404 yards per game, 31.4 points per game 2025 326 yards per game, 22.8 points per game

My concerns, which have been all year: - Smart defenses dare Bryce to beat them deep. They disguise looks pre-snap really well and then assume the play call involves a 4-8 yard route concept and creep up. This also helps them against the run by not needing to fear getting beat over top. The games we’ve won and when 9 looks competent, we push the ball downfield more. We looked so scared today. Do we adjust properly when initial gameplan and blueprint is being countered? Canales often times is too stubborn or too predictable.

He has 2 of those for parents. He needs 6" of height, 100 lbs of muscle, a bionic arm and a new brain.
-
They’re going to be out first round because of him.
-
this. Even during his 'good games', he's usually highly inconsistent during the game. And in his bad games, oh he's very 'consistent' but not in the way we want.
-
That may be true but I would trust Bryce over Darnold with the game on line. Darnold has the same weaknesses he always had.
-
Be prepared? Canales really said that he expected them to play more zone. TMac said it caught them by surprise how much man they played. That’s concerning. Witherspoon and Riq match up so well with TMac and Coker I don’t know how any “offensive HC” wouldn’t have a better plan Games like today is when our lack of speed/YAC guys really show up. TMac and Coker are both pretty similar.

Bryce is elite at [PFF designated "big time"] throws

I don't have a full subscription but from early grades... Based on top performers for the game I see that our best offensive player was Ekwonu at 74.6 and our second best was Moton at 73.1. On defense, our top 2 were Mike Jackson with a whopping 92.6 and second was Wonnum at 78.6 (nice). -
. ..and Allen still lost
-
So jealous watching both of these teams offenses.

The best option would be Willis, but at this point he's probably played well enough that he will be an option for the Raiders (if Carroll is still the head coach, I think he would prefer a vet over developing a rookie he does not have time for), Colts, or Steelers to compete as starter. Sign here and he'll have to bank on Bryce starting another season ass, which is definitely possible but not sure thing. -
Dave Canales killing me with his play calling!

These guys are paid to play 60 minutes, I have never seen a coach do that in the NFL, we’re supposed to keep pounding, as a coach you can’t quit on your team no matter what the odds are. -

It's easier to teach Sam Howell how to get rid of the ball than it is to teach Bryce to be an NFL QB. -
Jtewart was in no way being an apologist I did my best to summarize a crib notes version of what j stew and the other podcaster were saying in a 38 min podcast his discussion of the defense was full of props for them but I pointed out the same as j stew did in the game thread, the panthers d missed a few critical open field tackles and frankly, they have for the past few years. We can have theories as to why but the fact remains they do …and Horn has had several critical and frankly bone headed mistakes of late, so much so, he is getting picked on it seems he in no way anointed Bryce or Canales I appreciate former players’ inputs as they see the field through a different lens than I do on the small screen…not at the stadium , so I don’t see the field

Sam is a good QB who makes dumb mistakes and gets in his own head. Bryce is a bad QB who makes dumb mistakes and gets in his own head.

Look at this swath of draft slots depending on how next week shakes out.

At least, if they were all Bama fans, I could understand their blind allegiance. But, for the most part, they are actually Panthers fans. Some of whom constantly trashed Cam when he was here. Maybe they just love being wrong...?
