Dude, HELL no. He would do something incredibly stupid like get a fuging penalty or fumble the snap. You do NOT take your least disciplined player and put them in that crucial of a situation. Honestly, if they are going to do a tush push type play, it should be Dowdle getting the snap.

I would disagree. We are also hamstrung by a bottom 5 OC and HC in the NFL. Hence why they seem so unprepared at various times during the season, hence why we see them spontaneously go away from plays that are functional and never return, despite repeated failures. Bryce and Dave deserve co-credit for how shitty we sometimes look. In fact, Dave moreso because his personnel decisions(including Bryce, XL, etc) are fuging terrible at times.

This is why I cannot understand this logic. The "get rid of" ship has sailed. It's just a matter of how long these abusive relationships last.

Yeah, this was 100% on Bryce. For some reason he came out being checkdown king Sunday. Didn't really even look at deeper routes. Just checked it down as quickly as possible. He CAN NOT be a franchise QB playing this inconsistently. The confusion for me is that some games he looks at deeper routes and then some games he just ignores everything over 15 yards. I don't understand this dude anymore. Honestly thinking he's broken at this point. He WAS NOT like this at Alabama. They'll pick up his 5th year option, but there's no way he's extended. No way.

Reimer isn’t an option. He had his time here and wouldn’t be much better. Primeau wouldn’t be much better either. Our next goalie is going to come from another team it’s probably going to be a hefty price but it’s also going to be a really good goalie from a bad team. Saros just makes too much sense. Heck, the back up for Dallas is a good goalie.

I get wanting us to lose during a lost season if it means a higher draft pick. But at this point there's no good reason to root for a loss this week. All the people thinking a loss will mean Bryce is cut/benched/traded and/or Canales is fired aren't living in reality. Whatever your thoughts are on either of them, there is ZERO chance we don't bring both back next season regardless of the result on Saturday.

I hope to see changes in the goalie situation and 2C to give the Canes a real chance in postseason. If Freddie isn’t replaced, it does look like an early exit from the playoffs unless Bussi plays every game and isn’t injured- not a good place to be in.

They're not dumb. They just handcuffed by one of the worst starting QBs in NFL history. The rest of the team is serviceable to good. We just have a bum QB who is dragging the entire franchise down. It's not coaching. It's not playcalling. It's not officiating. It's Bryce Young. That's it. Full stop. We're spinning our wheels til he's gone.

It's the least watchable for sure. 2014 had Cam so even a not good team was still fun and dangerous.

This is one of the more puzzling draft busts I can remember he has top 1% measurables, played multiple positions in college and obviously had the production is it the systems he has always been in? Jeremy Chinn looked like Sean Taylor in Phil Snow’s defense and then couldnt get on the field with Evero

I've been critical of the organization's lack of urgency in addressing the goalie situation for a few years. And it started with the annual injury reports when Freddie was a good goaltender. He got hurt every season, missing stretches of games, yet the Canes insisted on keeping him. At least when Freddie got hurt, it forced the Canes to call up Pyotr, who was eventually given a heavier workload when Raanta's game went south. Much the same situation now, except the Canes don't have a backup plan and, right now, they can't assign Freddie like they did Annti. So, while the Canes can swing for the fences and bring in a Guentzel, Raantanen or Ehlers, the same can't be said for the goalie situation. And, yes, this team plays 2 different styles of hockey depending on who is in goal. Not a recipe for success. The Canes will be eliminated in the 1st round again this year. The Canes have 15 losses, Freddie has been in net for 11 of those. That number becomes more glaring with each loss and if the situation is not addressed, I fear the fanbase is not going to be very forgiving in Lenovo the next time Freddie is in the lineup.

It was directed at Tampa too - and he was right. If I were one of the WC teams there's no way I'd wouldn't want to play a mediocre team in the NFC South in likely nice weather conditions instead of the defending Super Bowl champions who are playing better now in the cold.

Part of it is being a 4 seed. The same has been said for the AFC side. Steelers are going to get embarrassed on their home field by the Bills or a wildcard team from the West or South. It's more than likely true as well.
