  1. Past hour
  2. To be honest I am surprised he is still here after the Bills (Panthers North) started being successful
  3. Two things here I mostly agree that you can't read too much into all the interview stuff the week after the draft, because yea, they're selling the fans on the pick at that point. But I think the initial press conference after the pick can tell you a lot about what they were thinking as they accidentally say a few things certain ways without thinking. And Canales' comments about the 5th pick being big and once they took Mason they thought their guy would drop to them. That wasn't post-pick spin, I think that was just him talking off the top of his head and "gave away" that T-Mac was one of, if not the, top targets the whole time. In regards to why the reports about us trading back if we never would have because we were taking T-Mac... I heard an interview with a former GM the morning of the draft and they said you really can never trust anything you're hearing with regards to that stuff. That teams will "let things leak" to purposefully try and make other teams think you're doing something else far more than anyone actually realizes. I think calling around looking for trades is a good way to make other teams be less afraid of you staying put and taking the guy they want, and thus make them feel it's not necessary to trade up ahead of them to get their guy before you do. I could very well see a scenario where the Cowboys trade up to 7 to take T-Mac if they thought we were going to take him, and since they took an OT when another went at 9 after us, they very well might have made that trade figuring at least one of the two OT's would still be there for them at 12 to take while getting extra picks.
  4. INB4 he chases after the next frontrunner like he did the Pats.
  5. Not sure I'd want to be the "Ryan Mallett" of anything
  6. I honestly think with all the injuries Shaq has had, he is a shell of himself. There is a reason no other team is signing him... We aren't the only team in the NFL that needs LB help
  7. I have always loved the panthers in a platonic way--After their lawyer sent me a cease and desist letter and explained the meaning of "keep pounding."
  8. Many of the same people bitched and moaned that our front office leaked like a sieve, we always telegraph our picks, charlie campbell always knows our pick because we're so predictable, etc. etc. Glad to see those guys finally STFU.
  9. The three-cone doesn't stand out for a pass-rush prospect, but the height/weight/speed is crazy. Could be an awesome special teamer immediately at the very least.
  10. Today
  11. My wife's interest in the team is a big indicator for me. She swore off ever loving us again after Luke and TD left. Her tune has changed recently, large due to us drafting XL, because she was very tied to that small community. She has listened enough to know a few players now. Your sentiments track. She may just know Thielen as "the translator" or T-Mac as "that kid that don't like film", but it is at least on her radar again. Now all we need (all we ever needed) is to win. Hunt is also a household favorite as "big, funny man".
  12. I think those confused feelings are a result of the blood flow you are attempting to justify.
  13. I agree there nuance. But in general reaching that milestone should not be a difficult task given our situation.
  14. 1k yards is not too much to ask for a top 10 pick and should be expected. He should be considered the top target and if he's not then it was a bad pick. 4 rookies eclipsed 1k yards last season it's not too much to expect.
  15. All of Sanders' bullshit might honestly be worth it if he were a superstar Lamar/Cam/Josh Allen type dynamic player. But he's a checkdown game manager with the personality that isn't justified by his skillset. Hard pass.
  16. Shouldn't she have like six breasts? I mean, she's a panther, so I'm confused.
  17. I mean imagine this is your dad. Playing 2 professional sports and strong arming MLB and NFL teams. He was a superhero. What other kind of perspective can he offer? This is a great watch btw.
  18. The point is that evaluating his season is more nuanced than reaching a statistical milestone. One year ago I wouldn't have necessarily been upset with ~50 catches/500 yards/4 TDs for XL. But in context, he underperformed given the volume of snaps and targets. And we all saw his issue with alligator arms. The context is what matters. Does he become the #1 target? Does overall offensive production increase or stay the same? Are there reasons for that outside his control ie injuries to other positions, regression by teammates, etc.
