  1. Past hour
  2. I get that, but not a lot of UFA top RHDs out there, unless you want to give Eckblad $9-10M. Matter of fact, Eckblad may be the only top line D-man who's unrestricted. Better look for a trade somewhere.
  3. But tbh, even if we took Ace, he would force his way out or be injured all the time or immediately leave when his contract was up after half-assing here then go on to be an all-star elsewhere. I see all these people now saying we need to trade LaMelo, but we’ve seen this movie before. He can’t stay healthy - then we trade him and he lives up to all of his potential while we poo the bed with whatever assets we got back for him and end up with nothing. It’s the Hornets and Panthers way.
  4. Great article on BY!https://www.yahoo.com/sports/article/panthers-film-review-bryce-youngs-153036736.html
  5. I just thought we could have gotten more for Mark Williams. Not sure why they were dead set on trading him. Even more pissed we took back that bum micic
  6. I don't agree, but your remark was funny as hell. I knew that people were going to reject "leave our mark," simply because they hate change. Add in the emotional Sam Mills aspect of it, and "keep pounding" is sacred to so many Panthers fans. Sometimes change is warranted however, so If they come out with a jacket or hat or something, I'm on it.
  7. Low expectations and putting JAG on a pedestal. I guess I can understand. We've been in a bit of a desert of talent-rich wide receivers. I received a lot of smoke for trying to tell people that Philly Brown was JAG. Oh how so many Huddlers loved them some Philly...
  8. I thought they had a pretty good draft last night. Hornets were dead last in shooting and three pointers. They drafted two guys that can shoot.
  9. Today
  10. Ok you've convinced me to go ahead and order my Hunter Renfrow jersey.
  11. I always thought they should have one thing on highway etiquette and safety in the driver's ed programs. Doesn't even need to be on the actual exam. But if people just learned the basics at 15/16, after 10-20 years I think there would be enough of them on the road to help. Not just what the lanes are for but how to (and not to) drive with semi trucks.
  12. Didn’t realize Renfro did returns! Thank you for that It’s his (Renfro) to lose then, which he won’t.
  13. I don't think Horn should be penciled in our a default returner at all. He had 14 career punt returns in college. That's not much work. Renfrow has 70 NFL PR returns logged. He should be the default guy penciled in IMO> Sometimes the priority is just can you not turn it over. You see rookies choke a lot at the NFL level or guys you try to make return guys.
  14. I mean, I alluded to it when we signed him. It might be different if he was old and washed up, but he's not. Sickness and suffering will never ever allow you to be your best. Eclipse that and if one has the talent and inclination to thrive, the sky's the limit.
  15. Renfrow makes the team and becomes part of the rotation-- then he plays well. Gets NFL comeback player of the year. You all cheer. When I say, "I called this in June." You will say "Pic or it didn't happen." I will say, "you all disgust me because you are too mired in mediocrity to see my brilliance." You will give me a poo emoji because that is how you treat greatness. OK, I'm back.
  16. I did a little research. I think that it's hard to say that we're a traditionally "small-market" team anymore. Technicalities aside, our fan base is certainly not as popular as some others (lots of fans from different fan bases can probably argue that though), but the Panthers do have a solid and committed following if you look at things like home attendance and---fascinatingly---social media digital presence (e.g., back in 2023 there were three million followers of the Panthers on Twitter, ranking them #5). It's just hard to get exact, up-to-date numbers because much of the relevant information is not forthcoming, but suffice it to say that winning changes things, even if temporarily. Even if the fan base is smaller, it certainly seems to make a lot of noise. We just need to win. On an off note, Tet McMillan has fairly strong rookie jersey sales. Between him, Bryce and Legette, maybe the fan base will grow a little.
  17. I would think so. If things got dire in the RB room, finding someone to match his production ain’t too hard. He made the team based on his ability to not muff a punt and make a decent attempt at a return. I will say it was nice to see someone sure handed back there but I can’t remember a single big return he ever had for us. Horn has to be penciled in as the default returner unless things look really bad at camp. I can see him as being a very special kick return guy.
  18. Staff led culture leads to player led culture.
  19. It's going to take time to really evaluate new ownership. I still have some hopes that they can get us past the curse of the Jordan years. We got screwed over by the league with the lottery yet again, nothing in this draft was ever going to make people happy after that happened.
  20. The Hornets were screwed when they lost out on the #1 pick. Outside of Cooper Flagg this was a terrible draft class full of risky prospects and red flags. Kon Knueppel likely won't ever be a superstar - or even a star, realistically - but he can be a solid contributor for a long time in the league. That's actually more than I think will end up being the case for many of these players.
  21. I guess we should disregard what all these places say about our draft? And just trust you guys on this board? And as far as the Mark Williams trade, most places are saying we got the much better end of that trade for what its worth to yall. Bleacher report has Kon a "B", BR has him C+, Fansided A-, NBC Sports overall draft an A-, Sports Illustrated overall A-, MSN has Kon a B+, Yahoo Sports has us at an A- overall. Here is what ESPN posted: Post-Draft Analysis Knueppel's well-rounded perimeter game and terrific 3-point shooting ultimately won out in Charlotte's decision process, with the Hornets attracted to his fit with their current roster and his long-term potential. He should help stabilize their perimeter minutes immediately, with his dependability all season at Duke a major selling point. The Hornets were thought to be exploring moves here, but were content to simply grab their guy and move forward. This is a strong match that should pay off right away for both sides. -- Jeremy Woo
  22. well, players dictating things only works if you have the right collection of players to dictate things. and in all honesty, not sure if we can answer if we do or don't as fans given......there are no Thomas Davis types around that we know are actually about X and Y (based on years showing it). Collective team is too new to us to know what these dudes are really about in terms of players carrying the burden of culture.
  23. Moore can be put in one of the vet spots on IR. No one will be checking for him at the start of the season. But I would be very perturbed if we tried to go all Gettlemagic and stash an obvious talent like Horn on practice squad like we did Butker. If we can get through this year, next year it will be obvious Moore and AT will be gone, starting namely with AT's contract.
  24. Culture change comes from the top down, not from drafting a 3 and no D guard. I doubt Lamelo is gonna take his cues from this 20yr old kid lol. If Brandon Miller couldn’t change the culture with how good he is and how much he hustles on both ends, Kon Knueppel sure as hell ain’t changing it. Ace Bailey by all accounts is also a great teammate and hard worker, btw, who was drafted by a team he supposedly didn’t want to go to yet he immediately bought in. And he’s got actual length and tools on both ends of the floor. I feel this pick is going to age like milk rather quickly.
  25. I don't think there should be a difference and if there is a conflict, you have an implosion. The staff and organization are there to establish culture from the FO down. The players they bring in should personify that. The FO ideally has the vision and the players execute on that vision. What we see as fans should appear to be player led but it has to complement and be aligned with the organization. Just my opinion and I may be missing the point of the topic so apologies if that is the case.
  26. this league is about athleticism and he is lacking. Hope I'm wrong. I do like the kid out of Uconn, though.
  27. Ehhh we need a top pair RHD hes more of a 2 or 3
