I'd like to give Canales a chance with a different quarterback. But there are also issues Canales needs to fix which have nothing to do with Bryce.

There are some fans that are eyeballing the Niners as a win due to injuries. The Niners team on the field tonight would easily beat the Panthers. Seahawks game because of Darnold. I don't see either being wins.

Not really an option unless Canales wants to go down with him. Gotta do the best they can through season's end. (even if I'm not especially optimistic)

I am not convinced a new coaching staff would have any more success than the current. The stink comes from the top which is the owner. This team has looked horrible since Tepper has been the owner and through multiple coaching staffs they have all looked bad. I have a hard time believing that is a coincidence.

Canales tried to run a smashmouth game plan with injured / spent offensive linemen and West Coast Offense skill players. It was a losing approach.

He’s going to have to be told that he needs to hit some shots downfield. if you are coaching in a manner where you believe he is completely incapable of that, then you pull the plug now. all that is moot if your boss, the owner, is mandating Bryce be played to save face.

He had a bad game but this loss was not on the defense. They played well enough to win.

49ers can't have 2 competent QBs while we have 0. They can keep Purdy, and I'll find a way to root for Mac Jones. This would already be a playoff team with either of their QBs

I mean we would have needed to hold them to two FGs tops to win the game. 17 points isn’t bad and is only maybe a point or so over their season average. The failure was on offense. Something like 4 straight 3 and outs, but we were still in a tight game. Canales knew what a gamble it would be to start relying on Bryce throwing the ball and stalled as long as he could. His fears were realized as soon as the cuffs came off Bryce’s lil old wrists.

The Niners are so impressive with their ability to be a top level competitive team no matter who is playing QB and despite being decimated by injury every year. How they end up in those situations all the time is another story...but they get everything out of their players

Probably so......Its not a high bar to hit.

If Bryce hadn’t been with Saban and had all the exposure at Alabama I doubt he gets drafted before Day 3 and probably isn’t in the NFL at this point.
