  1. Past hour
  2. Yeah which is why if we are 0-5 after that Miami game (or even 1-4), I don't think there will be any choice but to bench Bryce.
  3. Yeah, I'm not a fan of taking LBs in the top 10. Luke was 1:1,000,000 prospect. That's rare. If we can somehow move back into the late first round, that's usually the sweet spot for the top LBs.
  4. Also.... Biakabutuka is the reason I'm a Panthers fan to begin with and have had this name for 15+ years on here, but part of me feels like I really need to change my name now to TMacFan4 or something, LOL
  5. Dude, he's NOT ready. I really like the kid, but are you willing to let this staff try to coach up a kid that clearly needs another year, or two, of college ball under his belt? Why do you want to ruin his career before it starts?
  6. Thanks for this. Great points. Time management and lack of plays being called to combat the blitz, were what I saw as the difference in winning and losing yesterday. Also, the lack of hustle during and between plays is painfully obvious. I watch other teams flying around and am frustrated by our team's play speed.
  7. I'm not mad at the T-mac pick because I think we hit on him. But I think Jalon Walker is going to show out and play with a chip on his shoulder because we passed on him. He will get 2+ sacks against us, I'm calling it now.
  8. He's a first overall pick. He's one of the smallest and least physically gifted QB's in the entire league. We did not draft him under the guise that he would need top shelf talent and coaching across the board just to look mid. You are basing your conclusion on your emotional attachment. That's all there is to it. Everyone else can see it. Besides. You've already created a thread saying he should be cut a whole year ago. You have no leg to stand on in this discussion anyways. Appreciate the convo bud. Have a lovely day.
  9. Hate to think this way in week 2, but this feels like a game we win in the past and screw up our draft pick. Maybe this is the year the bottom finally falls out and we can add another blue-chipper to Tet?
  10. The bar just keeps going lower and lower. There is no bottom apparently.
  11. Nope, he does most of his damage in the second half, namely the 4th quarter. I think there was one or two games last year when he started hot in the first half and fizzled in the second half. There's always outliers. That said, if this is what you find acceptable in a franchise QB then brother you have a very low bar for QB1 standards.
  12. Given that most mocks are still trying to tell us our eyes are wrong and Arch Manning is the consensus #1 QB in the country.... Drew Allar (Penn St) or Dante Moore (Oregon)
  13. It's wild how hard Arizona tried to give us that game and we were like, nah we good.
  14. No. Sorry to burst everyone's bubble. If Hooker is out taking snaps, then THERE IS A MASSIVE issue beyond how poor we've played. Why not? I'm a reactive person! Make changes for the sake of changes! I get it. But why? Because of Bryce and off season trades. First round QBs usually have value, even if they suck. Bryce is the same way. Bryce does have talent, and I could absolutely see some teams in the off season kicking the tires on Bryce. Benching him for a practice squad QB after two weeks will tank his value. May as well release him then. The rest of the team will not be happy, and I don't think anyone wants to deal with that. No one wants to waste a year of time. The guys want to win. It's very possible we do move on from Bryce this off season, but we don't have another option which will help us win. Bryce almost lead an extremely improbable last minute drive. He didn't get it, but the play calling did him no favors. So just drop him and plug in someone who they see in practice who doesn't have the skills to step in? No.
  15. We won’t play a team with a winning record until week 8 Panthers have the most dogshit first half schedule in the league. Like the dolphins might not even have a coach by the time we play them.
  16. Which could've been a crutch for Canales to at least fall back on. Honestly, if the wheels truly fall off in the coming weeks, I think bringing back Taylor Heinicke could be an interesting route rather than going back to Dalton again. He's a FA who has enough starting experience to get us through the season. Dalton was BAD after his initial volume game against Vegas. The only viable QB I notice that could produce and maybe stick as a future bridge or backup is Jarrett Stidham. But unsure someone like that is worth trading for. I think we're looking at current FAs if the wheels fall off.
  17. This experiment (that's what it is when you draft a 5-11 190lb QB) should have been over at this point, not another game to see what he has or any of that mess. He can't read defenses, he can't play in the NFL unless it's against prevent defense. Just bench him and move on.
  18. We're a dumpster fire but better than we were at the start of last year. We graduated from epic dog chit to regular dog chit
  19. There's a lot of Bryce and Evero hate today, as always, but I haven't seen the end of the first half mentioned. I want to highlight it because it's really where we lost the game, it's as infuriating as anything else that happened yesterday, and it hasn't gotten enough attention. - Just after the 2-minute warning, Arizona kicks a field goal to make it 3-13. The Cardinals have two timeouts left. On the kickoff: Not one, but two holding penalties. Ball's spotted at the 11. - First play: Inside zone from shotgun, for three yards. Chuba gets up ready to hand the ball immediately to a ref, but nobody else has any urgency. - Second play: Ball doesn't get snapped until 8 seconds left on the play clock. Bryce sprays a pass into the ground in front of Legette. We use 36 seconds of game time, but stop the clock for the opponent. - Third play: Shotgun snap. Bryce throws the ball low to Sanders. Sanders almost reels it in, but can't. Clock stops again. Panthers face 4th and 7. - Fourth down: Punt to Arizona. Dortch returns it 30 yards to the Panthers 45. - Following drive: Arizona uses the short field and both remaining timeouts to score a touchdown as time expires. This is the stuff that doesn't show up in the box score that loses a game, the classic hidden yards: Special teams miscues. Two holding penalties and a long punt return flip the field. Poor time management. Why run the first play if we're not going to run again? Why pass on second down if we're not going to hurry into it? Why not make the opponent use either of their timeouts? Poor QB play. These kinds of throws get lost in the Bryce post-mortems since they only count as two incompletions, but both were makeable throws. Sacks would have been better than incompletions. He just missed the throws. It's an awful mixture of physical failure and mental obliviousness. I generally think Canales is doing a decent job, but we blew a good chance to go into the half with a game in reach despite everything going wrong. Instead, we made it much, much worse. Considering how close the score was in the end, this two-minute stretch of complete ineptitude is going hang over the rest of the season as a giant missed opportunity.
  20. I genuinely don't know where the next win is coming from. 5 wins is ambitious.
  21. He has to keep someone on to tell him what to do. If he got rid of everyone he would have to bring in someone from the outside to tell h8m what to do and he's not having that.
  22. They didn't because people would be calling for Jameis Winston (or whatever cast off that would be an instant upgrade) to start right now.
  23. G waiting on Bryce to give them the go sign. G alerts the C. The C doesn't want to literally snap it exactly on the touch or the DL tees off. I would really like to know that Corbett/Bryce exchange. Corbett's back was to the camera. Things were said. You only see Bryce's body language.
  24. Even people excited about him in the media had admitted a few concessions last year. At best, you're getting Good-Tua and Brock Purdy. I don't think that's what we want to aim for at 1.01, but now, I don't think we're even getting that at best. We're nearing the end. It will take a few more weeks, but I don't think there's a way back for him with this franchise unless he somehow starts winning and producing points and scoring drives when given the opportunity. 6-26 in 32 starts. Has already been benched and came back. There's not much runway left. He's gotta start winning or else this is simply done.
