Caribbean Honeymoon Advice

Mayor Qumiby

Recommended Posts

So back in January I asked my girlfriend to marry me and for some reason she actually said yes. We will getting married in the mountains September and are looking at an all inclusive resort somewhere in the Caribbean.

I know September is tricky with the weather down there but we're gonna gamble on it being nice.

We really like Jamaica and right now thats where we are considering going. We have looked at alot of resorts there and Secrets resort at St.James is where we pretty much have decided on staying. Its in Montego Bay but its not close to the airport like alot of the resorts are. Its about 45 minutes from the airport and sits on a peninsula.

Has anyone one stayed here and and if so what are your thoughts?

Are there other resorts in Jamaica we should be looking into or other islands you guyd would ssuggest.

I had my wedding and honeymoon in Montego bay, Sandals resort and it's a fun little ride from the airport. I remember getting off the plane and some guy who looked like a street person had a sign that read Sandals he told us to get in his van, scary. When we got into the parking lot he tried to sell me some weed but I politely declined.

Once we got to Sandals I had the best vacation of my life. I'm divorced now but would love to go back, maybe when I retire.

I've had a number of people tell me if money is a factor....Dominican Republic....if it is not Turks

Did not care for Turks at all....been there a few times scuba diving.

There was a ton of construction going on and it was not a beautiful and tropical island.  However, that was aobut 6 years ago, so the construction may be over.

There are many other better places that Turks.

Hedo 2.

One would think that going there would be fun....but, one would be wrong.

There was a Hedo resort next to Sandals Negril and we were able to go to that resort one afternoon.  Believe me....the people that were clothing optional were the people who had NO BUSINESS being without clothes.

Naked old and fat people playing volleyball is NOT a pretty sight.

    • He does have speed. 21+ top end speed is very fast for a linebacker and his 3 cone drill time is considered excellent, close to elite.
    • This is awesome because you get to see the perspectives of the scouts--get a glimpse behind the curtain. I wonder whose doing this was; I am curious as to why David Tepper allowed it. Maybe it was his wife. Maybe Dan.  At least from my perspective--and probably one shared by other fans--when David Tepper bought the team, he closed everything off too much to the fans, and really didn't give an explanation. Things were obviously done because he (and/or some others wanted to do it). Remember when they used the guise of construction and all that to keep fans from seeing the team during practice? I know there are laws and safety and all that, but Tepper could've made it happen. And, of course, we all know that they essentially fired Jeremy from his independent contractor gig as a photojournalist. I never understood why they'd do that (and the negative reverberations obviously affected Jeremy and ultimately this place--i.e, us fans). The pie was (and is) certainly big enough to throw some scraps to the independents. I realize that you can't necessarily open the floodgates, but a few different perspectives from indy journalists whether in word or photos is a good thing in my mind.  So, it's great to see different perspectives. I will say this however: it is not without risk, as you know there will be some buster who will be calling the scouts out if the players flop. I think we should all keep in mind that the buck stops with the GM. It's nice to have one, however, that is so convicted in his people and process--and ultimately success, that he's willing to give fans access to this type of information. Pass this on to Tepper.
    • I hope he ends up being our best ever at the position. Ryan Kalil left big shoes behind that we haven't quite been able to fill since.
