Thomas Davis sheds knee brace

I would never remove the brace for the rest of my playing days.

That's just me though.

This.....I wouldnt take it off but then again I'm not Thomas Davis. He is a pro and nobody knows his body like he does. If he trusts his leg without it then cool, and if he moves even faster without it, even better

Okay before everyone in here has a meltdown:

I've torn both ACLs, had procedures and rehabbed both.  Because of this, I've talked to countless doctors, therapists and read any medical journal I could find on the subject.  BRACES DO ALMOST NOTHING TO PREVENT ACL TEARS.  For someone who has normal muscle development(or beyond normal for an NFL athlete), the amount of force required and the type of force required cannot be stopped by any brace.

The majority of progressive surgeons/sports doctors at this point do not recommend braces, since if anything, they prevent the natural strengthening of the muscles that help stabilize the knee.  Braces now are more or less to help the patient psychologically "trust" the knee again.  If Davis doesn't feel the need to hesitate and second guess his knee, there is almost no advantage to wearing the brace.  If Davis feels it's slowing him down(which is more then likely true but not to a huge degree), then he should most definitely take it off.

Man after three ACLs that seems brave.

Important to remember that one of the ACL injuries occured while he was wearing a knee brace, so it didn't fully protect him from re-injury.

I like the move.  Reminds me of your classic japanese animation where the character takes off his weighted training clothing, and becomes ten times faster than they were before.  This is our year to win, might as well go all out.

    • Just worry about it next year.  Its that simple honestly.  its way to early to do what ifs.  I could see us trade/cut chuba and retain dowdle, I could see them let dowdle walk and go with Chuba/Etienne and Brooks, and I could see Dowdle and Chuba both stay and see what happens.  Hell, we still have 6 games left THIS season plus possible post-season...what if Rico or Chuba have an ACL tear or severe injury.  I DO NOT want that to happen, but stuff like that does happen.  Remember RB is the most injury prone position in the NFL due to the beating their bodies take so having some extra guys is never bad, just wish it hadn't come at the cost we paid to get him.
    • I think it’s cool that no one can be really certain what the outcome will be.  That’s a lot of progress! This is a real opportunity for us, I’d be happy with a competitive game and thrilled if we sack up for a W.
    • I could never found out who did the first surgery. That failed.      Nor who did the recent one.    Yiu can’t count on anything involving him. If it happens it’s a windfall at this point.
