Steve Smith Taking Shots at Cam Now

Can't help but notice there's no quotation marks around the "to have QB calm as Flacco in huddle" part.

Or, he could've been asked a question phrased as, how does it feel having a QB as calm in the huddle as Flacco? or something like that to where his answer is "it's been refreshing"

You just helped his argument. Of course he only wants to stay wherever HE is the primary option.

Am I the only one here that's been a Panther's fan for more than a season?

Smith has stated so often that he wanted to play the slot, and wanted more options in Carolina.

Yeah Smith isn't a team player. He just totally wanted to play his entire Career in Carolina for statistics, rings, and big money.

LOL! Some of you guys are really awful. Smith could have signed almost anywhere, but he stuck it out in Carolina ONLY to be cut. Of course he's fuging pissed. He's has some of the shittiest QB's and OC's in the league around him with a super conservative offense for most of his career.

Yep he sure is a team player. Just ask all the teammates he's punched and the countless number of receivers he's helped out here.

In which case it would've been set up by the media getting the exact answer they wanted to begin with in the form of a trap question... in order to create that little one-liner catchy headline that they knew would draw hits.

Looks like it worked.  We've got a thread about it on a Panthers forum.

    • He makes a good point about Wallace.  In fairness to Wallace it is hard to play your position as freely as you need to when your defensive line is getting pushed around like ragdolls.  One of the greatest attributes a defensive line has is sucking up blocks, freeing up your linebackers.  Our defensive line couldn't suck up a lollipop more or less blocks.  I think Evans, Sanders and Tremble are going to be a really nice TE group.  I can see all three getting time on the field.  If Sanders can improve as a blocker teams won't be so inclined to believe it is a pass play whenever Sanders is on the field.  Ryan Fitzgerald, I think was an awesome pick-up. Hopefully he can fill our kicker void. Luke Kandra many turn out to be our next Norwell.  Everything I have heard about him says he's a beast.  He needs some refinement, but the good news is he's got Hunt and Lewis (arguably the best guard tandem in the league) to learn from.
    • Great teams build through the draft and have several young players that start that are on rookie contracts. It's important to hit on players in rounds 4 thru 7.  These should be future starters and solid depth.  When you hit on most of your picks you free up a lot of cap space for those one- or two-year players to fill spots you are thin at. No GM is going to perfect on all their picks.  You're going to whiff every once in a while.  That was Hurney problem.  He'd nail the first pick but after that it was reach after reach and we couldn't get any depth on this team. I'm excited about Morgan as our GM and hopefully he'll be around a long time.  It will be even better if Canales can continue to grow as a head coach, both in the development of young players and play calling. I remember last season after Young came back in the lineup and started to perform well.  We saw different plays I had only seen other teams use.   If Canales's play design and play calling continue to grow. Morgan and Canales will be linked together for a long time.  It would be nice to see a Coach and GM together for a decade or two. Go Panthers
    • They also came out for the encore and the singers were dressed in canes jerseys. Pretty fuging cool.
