Mike Shula "We cant expect to win many games running the ball 10 times"

Exactly. Even beyond healthy, you have to have the right bodies. You call plays for the team you have, you don't just call plays based on your philosophy to try to force square pegs into it.

ding ding ding ding ding

I was coming in here to say this very thing.  It's nice he has a direction and philosophy he wants to implement but our players on O seem like they would be better fitted in a Pep Hamilton or dare I say Mike McCoy offense.  Those one's produce and win even when they don't necessarily run well, but they don't need to force this whole time killer offense strategy.   We're still a playoff team with Shula but I just disagree with our style all together on this side of the ball.  It's just ugly and it produces outcomes like the last one when we can't control the clock.  My biggest issue is that because of the methodical style, 1 mistake puts us in a wayy bigger whole than if we were a team that could score at will if need be.

The people that keep clamoring about defense...yes, they were just as much maybe even more of a factor for us losing this past game but that's one game.  Our offense is now carrying over the same bad tendencies in another season with Don's son at the helm.

I'd be saying this even if we were 3-0 because our offense is just meh.  Also, the OL is pretty much as bad as many expected.

Sure you might miss a beat without a Pro Bowl caliber player, but Hardy doesn't win us the game against Pittsburgh.

I agree To an extent..

I really Believe if we as a team didnt have to deal with the huge media driven distraction of Hardy we would have played a much better game. I believe the distraction of Hardy hurt this team more than him not physically playing.

i mean rivera is up there all pissed of in poo, flip flopping since monday.. it was just a clusterfug and we lost focus

Last year: he is calling the game to conservatively and running the ball too much and making too many short safe passes

This year: we are trying to throw the ball down field too much instead of quick easy passes and not running the ball enough

No matter what everything is Shula's fault and we only ever lose because of him.

Good thing we are 14-5 with him

Just curious, where have you seen that?

If some of you must have someone to blame, start with Gettleman.

There aren't many outlet passes to the backs because they have to stay in to block because our o-line is underperforming. We can't run the ball for the same reason.

Put the blame where it belongs. Don't just dump it on the least popular kid in class.

Why does one blame a Gettleman with anything. A majority of the roster moves and personnel have been positive, long term moves that should yeild a consistent winner.

Gettleman knows more than any here that we need to upgrade the OL..and that Hardy not on the field makes a lesser Panther Defense.

We had a healthy season last year and now not so much. Gettles improved the back end of this team so I think the dropoff is not going to be as severe as with the old regime.

Only since the Gettles hire has the team looked like it can trade blows with any team in the league.

Only the Oline..some safties..and skill position upgrades are needed to make this all elite.

True but I have read some coaches prefer one from the other. Shula use to be on the field with cam when he was a QB coach, now not so much. He use to interact directly with cam and see the emotion of the game. Not making excuses but maybe he should change it up. Man up and be there with players

Cam is having the best season as a passer of his career.

Shula being on the field isn't going to make our Ts and Gs not a hot mess

I'm not blaming Gentleman. But for those looking for a scapegoat, he's at least as responsible as Shula for our offensive woes.
