Real talk: Who do we get to run the ball next week?

After hearing what Smitty said in the interview after the game and what the Ravens spoke about in their locker room, I get a better sense of what was discussed behind closed doors.

Gettleman in his bumbling stumbling mouth breathing water bottle sucking way told Steve Smith that because he is 35 he is on the decline and there has never been a 35+ year old receiver who has gotten more than 700 yards in a season. So, Gettleman has decided to move in a younger direction for production from the receiver position and believes Smitty would only be a distraction for the team.

Then he signs two old WRs who are 32 and 31. But they are not 35 yet, so he guesses they could get over 700 yards in a season.

Gettleman cut the heart out from the team and it is starting to show. Horrible eye for talent. No better than flipping a coin. His success rate on players is 50% over his career.

I have never hated a GM as much as I hate Gettleman right now.

Does it really matter?

I mean we could have AP and we still wouldn't be able to run the ball behind this Oline.

If we sign anybody it should be Richie Incognito.

We got Hardy. Those scenarios are why Ritchie is unemployed presently

Go air raid offense

Y'know, while I'm pretty sure this was tongue in cheek, it's not a terrible idea.  We cant run the ball well, receivers have been better, spread out with single back and go to a pass heavy offense to set up the run.  This is far to innovative for Shula to ever consider, but it should be on the table.

Only partially tongue and cheek. With this o line I don't know what we can do. Right now my thought is only run to keep teams honest.

Cam will be exposed more, and we will have negative plays, take some sacks, but run game has been mostly fruitless and we have to get points.

I honestly don't know what any OC could do with this o line

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
